You have it ass backward. It's the Ukrainians that have sacrificed what's left of their army to try and hold Bakhmut.

200,000 Ukrainians are dead and 400,000 dead and disabled.

Meanwhile, it is the Wagner group that has been exclusively doing the fighting on the ground.

That sort of vehicle (Hummvees in this case) has been provided to Ukraine in large numbers. The US has a near-unlimited supply of these (Humvees, M113, MRAPs, etc.) in reserve in the US, as they are obsolete and are being disposed of. They have been useful but this is not what Ukraine is short of.

Very little of what was left in Afghanistan would be of much use in this war. Afgh. wasn’t an artillery-tank war. Afgh. was a guerilla war.

The US is granting shells to Ukraine from DOD stocks. This is a drawdown on inventory. That’s what’s on the documents they release every time. The cost of this on the expenditure reports is the US inventory book value.

For this stuff also the US is the sole buyer, if they actually order something and not just pull it from stock. The DOD issues orders to top up inventory or purchase something from a foreign source. Ukraine doesn’t buy direct for this material, from the US anyway. That’s how the US rolls.

For US material aid in weapons that’s how its been going.

Now, if Ukraine were buying direct from, say, the Turks or Czechs or Bulgarians, which they are, using cash they’ve been given by the EU or US, yeah, they get to be corrupt if they feel like it.

That is @60 billion or so spent (or charged vs inventory) so far from the $100 billion authorised. Most of that (from the US so far) so far is these inventory transfers. The EU/Euro countries have given Ukraine way more cash aid than the US BTW.

The DOD overspends on everything, as does the entire Federal Government, but that is domestic corruption. Which is at least 100x whatever is at risk in re aid to Ukraine. The whole US system is vastly corrupt, but that was so before Ukraine and will continue after it.

The picture you saw was fake and the picture I showed as an example was fake, the $40,000 shopping spree never happened and the stuff you posted never happened either.

Both of those attacks are planted internet propaganda efforts.

Oh, that’s right -— we manufactured them! Does Ukraine not have any industrialization? No factories or natural resources?

We don't have that capability at the present time nor does any NATO country in Europe. And, most of Ukraine's industrial base was in the area annexed by Russia.

How do you launder 155mm shells and HIMARS rockets?

Weapons originally sent as military aid to Ukraine including assault rifles, pistols, grenades and combat drones, had been found in multiple European countries, Christer Ahlgren, head of organized crime at the Finnish police’s bureau of investigations, told Yle.

Ahlgren did not give any further details about the smuggling of light weaponry into Finland, such as the number of arms recovered or their street value, but did say that the authorities believed that "three of the world’s largest motorcycle gangs" had reactivated their smuggling routes for Ukrainian-bound weapons.

"We have been warning about the growth of organized crime and criminal street gangs for years, but we have not been listened to," Ahlgren told Yle.

Seriously - who advertises what their military is going to do in time of war?

Especially when the other side has knows exactly where you would be coming from and has an 10-1 edge in ammo/missiles.

I think it's all ruse to keep morale up and money coming in.

Light weaponry is a tiny part of military aid to Ukraine.
That sort of thing is that which would “leak” into criminal circulation. But it is never going to amount to a significant corruption problem.

The cash and “humanitarian” aid is much more subject to “leakage”.

Luckily for the US most of US aid is heavy military weaponry.

Then why can’t we audit where everything is going inside of Ukraine just to make sure, it should be no problem, right ??

Well, maybe the Russians were told to aim their rounds at something, instead of trying to hide behind a “lead curtain”.

This war will not last another year.

This war will last as long as the profiteers can keep it going until a new more profitable conflict is found.
