I used to live in Chicago, and that area surrounding Univ. of Chicago is well known as a “bad” neighborhood. Just saying.
Are they holding the Univ. of Chicago responsible somehow, for the blight of the neighborhood??
Maybe a stupid question, but is there any evidence, that the Univ. of Chicago had anything to do with, or profited from, those urban renewal projects from 70 years ago? Does that matter to anyone demanding reparations for slavery and discrimination of the past?
Someone tallied up what has been spent on “that group” since all this started in the 1960s. I wish I remembered where I saw that. It seems like it was into the trillions of dollars.

A small group of spoiled brats stirring the pot. University of Chicago is probably the least “woke” of top US universities, certainly by their administration.
The University of Chicago makes Hyde Park an oasis for black middle-class in Chicago. Its the reason the Obamas moved there, plus it was close to Michelle’s political grift.
It it didn’t exist, Hyde Park would be as bad as the rest of the South Side.
Forced confiscation of others’ money for reparations needs to be a capital crime.

I was a graduate student at the UofC for a couple of years in the early 1970’s and again in the early 1980’s.
I remember even then left-wing student groups calling for reparation payments. Apparently there was a non-profit organization with connections to the UofC that was involved with urban renew projects in the early 1950s. Anyway the student leftists blamed the UofC for the destruction of some neighborhoods.
And yes, in the 1970’s the areas around the UofC were not good.
My idea for reparations is to arm half the chicongo gangs with RPGs and heavy machine guns. That would reduce the reparations amount by at least 50%.
These kids, in one of the most exclusive colleges in the country, don’t realize that this would launch tuition through the roof?

I'm good with this idea. Better spent than teaching students to be stupid. The professors should all face pay cuts and layoffs to pay for it.
