Wow, when I studied economics and spent decades in business, I always thought the way to be more competitive was to improve efficiency, improve productivity, and reduce our costs.

1. Oil and Gas are a plentiful and cheap means of energy
2. Wind and Solar are not plentiful/reliable and are expensive means of energy
3. We elites can't have that, as it erodes our power, so, we have to make oil and gas, as expensive as wind and solar, to keep the peasants under our thumb, and living like cavemen. OOPS! Should I say caveperson.
