“...report it...”

He appears to be withholding his conclusion based on the facts that the investigators were able to uncover.

Not that he is withholding any salient facts.

You are being way too tough on Alito IMHO. Which makes you Epps-like.

For every last one of the clerks and staff. Deny them references.

Stop defending government, and also accusing everyone of being a glowie. This is another example of .gov getting away with privilege, why the Justices weren’t part of the investigation. Such a double standard. Now the leaker gets away with it, and everything is forgotten.

“ You seem to be advocating for the abandonment of the rule of law.”

How cute. You still think we have the rule of law.

He just said, by means of a question, that he and those of his colleagues that constituted a deciding majority in Dobbs are not responsible for the leak of the Dobbs draft.>>> The case was decided 6 -3 he said the five of us leaving one of the other 4 as the possible leaker. That might include Roberts in the 4.

I met Alito and had a long candid discussion with him at an event. He is deeply religious and a fighter, remember he called out Obama during a State of the Union address. He is anything but a loser

I thought it was Roberts who yelled "YOU LIE!" to Obama.

” and that the leak made the justices targets for possible assassination.”

At least Alito seems to understand how dangerous the Left is and how they would resort to murder to replace justices. Maybe he thinks that is what happened to Scalia?

You did not actually advocate administrating an extra-legal death penalty, but instead are only unfairly maligning a justice, perhaps this non-denial denial on your part can be taken at face value.

SCOTUS Justices constitute a distinct branch of the Federal Government, coequal with the other branches. Leaking the draft Dobbs decision was a violation of the court’s internal procedures that Alito (its author) is saying was deliberate and strategic. He and his nine colleagues, together constituting an entire branch of the U.S. government, are without question the absolute, unappealable bosses of the investigators. As such they are fully within their rights to refrain from obliging themselves to answer investigators’ questions. Alito has now gone further and effectively publicly denied complicity, not only for his part, but also for the part of Justices Gorsuch, Thomas, Kavanaugh and Barrett. He has thus helpfully narrowed the list down to the Chief Justice, Kagan, Jackson and Sotomayor. Asking more of him at this point seems to be tantamount to unfairly isolating and targeting him—the very Justice whose life has been in most danger. That seems completely wrong and unfair.

Alito, his family, and the rest of SC families were put in danger. He potentially knows the leaker and has kept his mouth shut.

All you are doing is defending .gov and every point. Not only is the SC not a coequal branch of .gov, they are subject to certain Congressional conditions. Those aren't a topic for now, but the SC Marshal, on Roberts command did a investigation. The Justices were not part of that investigation. That is a example of a lawless country.

Alito has chosen to not reveal anything, even after his family was in danger. He's a loser.

Nonsense. You have no idea if the justices were interviewed. That is something that would not be made public.

And you can count on the justices defending their staff.

I worked for a state appellate court for over 30 years, I know how this works. The Supremes are just more so.

A SCOTUS justice knows this and there’s no one to follow up on it?

My bet is on Sotomayor. Kagan’s politics and view of the law are reprehensible in my opinion, but she does have an understanding of the rule of law. Sotomayor has not demonstrated that she has any such fundamental principles.

“Not only is the SC not a coequal branch of .gov, they are subject to certain Congressional conditions.”

__________

SC is indeed a coequal branch of the Federal Government.

The President (Branch II) nominates, and the Judiciary Committee of the Senate (half of Branch I) advises and consents, but once an SC Justice is sworn in, they are independent and in office for life, subject only to being removed by means of impeachment (as is the President), and having his vote diluted by means of subsequent expansion of SCOTUS to include more total members (similar to members of the House via an increase in the U.S. population, and members of the Senate via an increase in the number of states in the union).

Yes, it is a scary prospect....a crazed leftist murders one of the conservative justices and Biden names the replacement.

Would we allow this or would we stand together against such a fabricated event?

You know it would be orchestrated by the FBI.

If they get away with it, abortion is restored, firearm ownership ends and nothing matters.

The investigator said she didn't interview the Justices, nor did they volunteer to be interviewed.

You left out multiple aspects, ' the Supreme Court shall have appellate jurisdiction, both as to law and fact, with such exceptions, and under such regulations as the Congress shall make.', Congress via law can limit what cases the SC would hear, and we saw a use of power by the SC, when Roberts chose not to be present at the second Impeachment hearing, which creates the ambiguity if it was a impeachment at all.

Especially considering, it states that the Constitution that Chief Justice shall preside over a impeachment, thus the SC was outside the coequal powers of the Constitution, for good or bad.
