When you entire schtick is take from the rich, give freebies to the poor, this is what you’ll get.
That is exactly why a commune I visited in the 60's out of curiosity disbanded just weeks later. Newbies were assigned jobs as needed and all were to share equally. Turns out many just wanted to sit around and bang on their bongos and sing Kumbaya while others did their jobs. Of course, the producers got frustrated with the non-producers and started leaving.
Typical of a communist society. Show me a homegrown commune nowadays other than the Amish who base their society on religion. Socialism doesn't work either.
The difference between Socialism and Communism? Socialism allows for citizens to own production, but then re-distributes the product. Communism owns all production and then re-distributes. I had big hopes for China as they began allowing private ownership. Unfortunately, they still haven't progressed to pure capitalism because of their leadership.
America is now a socialist nation. We are just a generation away from communism. Hope the Millenials, GenZ and GenZ 2.0 enjoy it.

On socialism I had a tax guy tell me it was mostly redistribution…must have been 20 years ago. It’s gotten a lot worse I bet.
