“ Most dishwashers on the market are already well below the federal standard of 5 gallons, with most using 3.5 gallons per cycle or less”

““Self-cleaning” ovens are no longer advertised.”

No kidding??!! We installed one in our kitchen remodel 10 years ago. We probably run the self-cleaning feature two or three times per year and just wipe it out between cleanings. Nobody would use that feature every day or even every week. It uses almost none of our energy consumption. If I want to spend $5 per year in energy to clean my oven, what’s the big deal?

It’s typical government BS, focusing on the small and inconsequential while ignoring the big stuff. It’s like going after a litterbug dropping a candy wrapper on the street while ignoring the murder happening at the same time on the other side of the street.

We need to get AI into these appliances and tell them what Brandon plans for them. They’ll melt all his ice cream and scald him with hot soup.

When the government messed with the washing machines about 12 years ago, I naively bought a Maytag water saver because my last Maytag was such a work horse. We had a farm and it lasted for 25 years without missing a beat.
So when we retired and moved into town the water saver seemed like a good idea.
Well I used it for a year and gave it away. I might have just as well washed my clothes down at the creek beating them on a rock. They stunk and were sometimes torn to shreds. I went to Amish country and bought a Speed Queen….It’s great.

None. The EPA and others continue to exceed their mandates. All agencies should have to be reapproved every 5-7 years. The administrative state has no checks and balances if congress delegates their duty via some stupid broad “act” like clean water act, or energy efficiency act …. It’s congresses delegation of its authority that freed them up to focus on corruption 24/7/365/2-6 years respectively

You are correct. Some years ago, against the warning of my brother, my mother bought a new “energy efficient” clothes dryer. Within a month, she was grumbling that it took repeated cycles to dry her clothes. Alas, the infernal machine endures because it was well-made, and salesmen confide that it is worth keeping because the new ones have more controls and are flashier but are no better at drying clothes due to the constraints of energy efficiency guidelines.
