Cooper’s an insufferable leftist hack whose power has been checked by the NC General Assembly. The Republicans have super majorities that can override his hyper partisan political vetoes, and they have been used very effectively. The “emergency” is nothing but a stunt — a dog whistle to state leftists to blather on about another Marxist narrative (but...muh childrin’s education!) that beleaguered parents seeking to escape indoctrination and poor performance schools will easily dismiss as nonsense. Cooper has been made redundant and inconsequential, and the sumbitch can’t stand it.

I certainly hope that it is becoming more clear to people of all political persuasions and perversions that Democrats don't give a damn about education. They certainly don't like school choice.

There's limited school choice in PA. The taxpayer funded choices are limited to public indoctrination centers, brick and mortal charter schools and online schools. People can also homeschool, but they have to pay for that out of their own pockets.

Philadelphia which votes upwards to 90% for Democrats has a 40,000 child wait list for charter schools. I don't think there are 40k Republicans in Philadelphia, so more than likely there are a lot of Democrats that want school choice, and I bet they would certainly go for total school choice. That would be to receive tax dollars to use for any education option they choose, including homeschooling.

For the life of me, I don't understand why Republicans don't make school choice a major issue. By that I mean, hit Democrats over the head with it and say the quiet part out loud, "Democrats are whores to teacher unions and neither Democrats or teachers unions care about children." That would be a perfect campaign ad, but Republicans a pussies.

Ohio, part of the former Nortwest Territories, has a very strong Catholic school system and several well respected Catholic universities. The Northwest Ordinance set a good foundation.

Caution: Pedantry ahead.

Ordnance (no "i") refers to explosives and firearms ammunition.

Ordinance (has an "i") refers to certain categories of legislation, usually passed by the legislative bodies in cities or counties.

They have a veto proof majority. Next legislation is to take away his emergency powers. Gov must get legislative approval for emergency declarations from the legislature in 24 hours. Legislature to determine the length of the emergency.

No, the votes are there, but they are way too busy trying to craft and pass a two-year budget, strengthen voter integrity, pass constitutional carry and neuter Cooper’s incessant vetoes by overriding them. Why bother with impeaching the SOB when he’s been checkmated?

Both the Dems and Repubs are socialists.

Yes, most Repubs want government control, too.

The Dems want public schools to be the only schools - except for the few private schools the wealthy can afford.

The Repubs want the state to control private schools, too, which is exactly what happens when the state funds something.

Cooper is a typical hypocritical left wing politician. He sent his daughter to private school but he doesn’t want the masses to have school choice.
