Where are the Woodwards and Bernsteins when we need them most?“

They are looking for any parking tickets Trump may have received in 1983.

Newt is a DA:

They’re leftists. What an absolutely moronic premise to pose such a question.

They have long been infiltrated by the CIA. Carl Bernstein wrote a long article about it back in 1977 and only a fool would think it got any better since then.

Looks there have been certain edit cuts since I last looked at this several years ago. Principally, the CIA’s media roll in the JFK assassination.

In the book Silent Coup, it was established that Woodward had worked in Naval Intelligence and intercepted Kissinger’s messages as he was doing the Paris Peace Talks and feeding them to Admiral Moorer, and perhaps Alexander Haig.

When interviewing Moorer for the book, Moorer said something like “It is utterly ridiculous to think that I, an Admiral of the U.S. Navy would be involved in spying on the White House!”

Thirty(?) years later Moorer was involved in selling old military equipment to foreign governments under the guise of “antiques” (they were still functional). In an interview with some magazine (Time?) that was investigating it, Moorer replied “It is utterly ridiculous to think that I, an Admiral of the U.S. Navy would be involved in selling weapons to foreign governments!”

Newt is feeding the myth.

Journalists were never “objective” in the even handed sense of the word. They always had “an objective” to achieve. Woodward and Bernstein included.

They are probably hiding behind their desks, playing switch.

What we need is to purge the systems infected and jail those who are responsible, like they did with the j6. Let them sit there in jail waiting

Base message that Washington establishment & corporate media actively protect the uni-party ruling class, while actively attacking anything Republican or conservative. But to recall Woodward & Bernstein as some sort of saints is ridiculous. There is no way they would have gone after a Democrat president in the same way they went after Nixon. Yes, there was a coverup of a so-called 3rd-rate burglary. But the punishment did not really fit the crime - at least by standards of today. They were out to take down a Republican president. Nothing less. Nothing more.

They wanted Nixon’s scalp since he served on HUAC.

Journalists were never “objective”

When did the NYT takes back Walter Duranty's Pulitzer for covering up for Stalin or publicize that the Kitty Genovese story was fake? Let's not start on the Vietnam War and the fake news on a daily basis.

Publishing books and proclaiming him “worse than Watergate.”

They're Demagogic Party demagogues, so, off somewhere, probably reading the latest DNC talking points.

Where they always were, making sure to pounce on any potential political brouhaha and insist that it be criminalized, but only in one direction. They don’t do Dem political brouhahas.

It’s worse than Watergate.

Newt seems to be under the impression that he can win over people, enticing them across the aisle, by pointing out supposed similarities they’d perhaps never before considered. The fact is, there are nearly zero people on that side of the aisle who can be so enticed. They know the election was stolen, but just don’t care, they’re in favor of cheating, lying, corruption, racism, etc.

They wanted Nixon’s scalp since he took part in outing Alger Hiss as a known Communist Spy.

I found it hilarious, as did the entire courtroom, when presented red-handed with components of “The Pumpkin Papers” and asked how these documents, pulled from a Pumpkin (that Whitaker Chambers had put them in and hidden in his garden for safekeeping) had been shown by an expert to have been typed on Hiss’s father’s typewriter that Alger Hiss now owned, famously said:

“I will never know how Whitaker Chambers broke into my house and used my father’s typewriter to type up these documents.”

Apparently, the entire courtroom cracked up at this.
