This degradation of CUNY because of Communist infiltration started at least 50 years ago. I taught at one of two top notch CUNY colleges in the Fall of 1971, which was the first semester of the seismic plan, called “Open Enrollment.” Instead of accepting only students who had an A average in high school, the call went out all over NYC. “Anyone who wants to be a student at a CUNY campus need only show up on the first day of Fall classes.” The result was classes half filled with great students who wanted to learn and could and the other half with students who could barely read, or not at all. A nightmare for all concerned. Behavioral acting out, etc. The excellent students annoyed as hell. And downward CUNY has gone forever after.
