Tucker Carlson mentioned John Kelly and his ilk yesterday. Worthless, back stabbing vermin, all of them.

“””Respecting ALL marines as I do, officer or enlisted, I often find myself wondering how Kelly got to be a 4 Star General.”””

A few weeks ago I read that during World War II when there were many million troops the USA had seven 4 star generals.

Today there are 41 four star generals. My guess is that most of the current 41 spend their time planning the next Drag Queen show.

“””In 1970, when his mother told him that his draft number was coming up, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps.”””

This statement in Kelly’s CV makes him unfit. Momma’s boys do not make good leaders.

Give a guy a break. Teenagers aren't very aware of what's going on around them, and a lot of them need a nudge to get them off the couch. That doesn't make them "Momma's boys." A lot of teens, even "Momma's boys," went in the Marines and came out men and leaders.

He was a city kid, and possibly a drop-out. Milley and Levine went to a posh suburban prep school, the same one that Mitt Romney’s and Patriots’ owner Robert Kraft’s kids did. Very different environments.

They’re all part of the DC blob now, along with people from very different parts of the country. DC and the desire to get to top DC circles does that to people.

The thing to remember if you’re competitive for promotion for flag rank (and this includes promotion to SES - flag rank is protocol equivalent!). You’ve bought into preserving and protecting the “status quo” of both structure and policy. (When I mean “policy” I meant the “big stuff” NATO, relations with foreign powers, etc.!) Also, you’re “vetted’ as best as can be done, that “intellectual\emotional sell” was made. If not, you don’t get the “flag”! Also, once you’ve reached one level, the more you demonstrate the “buy in” the more you show you’re ready for promotion. Preserving the “structure & policy” means government\military positions, prestige, “well turned out” postings and “opportunities” after retirement in both the DOD & government support commercial sphere as senior VP for Gov Relations, Strategic Initiatives, etc. If they are not preserved those lucrative “opportunities” are rare. The days of military\senior government officials retiring and going back to the farm to maybe write their memoirs are long long gone!

So of course, they are going to fight tooth & nail, by hook & crook anyone who disrupts it or even talks about disrupting it. That’s why I find all this talk on this site about how the military will save the day so hilarious! What are you going to have a sergeant’s revolt like in Africa?

Anyway Don’t Believe me! Keep your comforting delusions. However, every “flag” that speaks out against Trump proves my point!

Who would you have recommended Pres Trump *should* have ‘invited in? Name names.

Well, he should have invited trusted friends and colleagues, but unfortunately he doesn't seem to have them. Better people engender trust and loyalty.

Ronald Reagan brought in Ed Meese as Attorney General. Meese had worked for Reagan since 1967.

Since Trump doesn't have friends, and colleagues seem to turn on him, the best he could have done is appoint known political allies and known conservative/MAGA people who would at least support his agenda. Kris Kobach, Rep. Tom Marino, Rep. Duncan Hunter, or other early supporters would have been better than Kelly. Jeff Sessions would have been better at Chief of Staff than AG, and that would have allowed an AG that wouldn't have recused themselves.

Warren Harding appointed his friends. That did not work out well. People who aren’t experienced can really make a mess of things, but odds are anybody who was experienced in politics or government was already part of the DC blob, and not loyal to Trump or his policies. So either way there would be problems.

I am sure Trump is concerned. Who wouldn’t be after what he’s been put through? I don’t know that he’s scared. I am sure hearing he could do 400 years over some document dispute is not fun. He’s also got to wonder if he can trust anyone, even his lawyers.

“dds are anybody who was experienced in politics or government was already part of the DC blob”

Yes, which is an advantage to electing Governors like Ronald Reagan. Experienced politically, but not part of DC swamp.

Really? He did not wait to be drafted, he enlisted in the Marines. Seems like initiative and seems like a stretch to call him a "Momma's Boy".
