Titanic: First ever full-sized scans reveal wreck as never seen before
I wonder if they’ve thought about rebooting the router?
> I don’t understand what these rich idiots were supposed to be getting out of this whole thing anyway <
That was my thought as well. There are quite a few high-resolution videos of the Titanic wreck on the internet. If you are that interested, grab a beverage of your choice and watch them.
Then maybe donate a few dollars to your favorite charity.
Ego.
Plenty of time to sue the **** out of some prideful maniac’s estate.
Show a little decency for the families of the people he took with him and at least wait until after the funerals, which is what sounds like is happening here.
“I read where they might have had 4 days of oxygen “
It has been on every story 24/7.
Post 8 confirms wireless
If you look at pics of one of the dives you will see condensation dripping from the roof due to non existent environmental controls. Add in a cheap video game controller that could short out due to moisture for controls, a propulsion system that looks barely adequate to maintain attitude, much less maneuver against a current and a combustible 100% oxygen environment with no special flammability rated electronics and flammable carbon composite hull and it’s a miracle if something does not go wrong
It was a disaster waiting to happen..................
It probably doesn't. But it's an alarming indication of just how stupid, shortsighted and slack the whole planning and operation of the vessel has been.
CEO is on record saying he hires exclusively twenty something DEI. No white, 50 something men with mariner experience need apply.
“I just looked it up. To my surprise, it’s not all that unusual. US submarines use those controllers too.”
Only for “periscope” operation. Not used for sub control.
I agree. There are videos of the Titanic wreckage where you can probably see as good or better than those folks would be able to see. Now their loved ones will probably have to grieve.
Bet his last thoughts were that he wished he had a “do over” on that one.
Enough professionals have spoken out ‘unfavorably’ about this venture. But they can’t sue the guy. Plenty of letters warning about this happening so it wasn’t news to him....which is why the lengthy forms they had to sign before the dive. ....they all knew the risk without question.
You can call it exploration all they want to but they wanted “the ride” and so took it. I hope they make it out alive but what a horrible way to go if they don’t.
I know absolutely nothing about submersibles....I did however support US Naval aviation working for the DoD at the depot level. In terms of Navy aircraft having redundant safety system backups, there are backups to the backups to the backups in many places.
I seriously doubt this thing had many, if any at all.
Yeah, thanks for that. Personally, I saw everything I needed to see re the Titanic at the Titanic Museum in Branson, MO.
What an absolute nightmare. I don’t even want to think about what the passengers are going through if they’re still alive. It reminds me of stories of people being buried alive.
