You are welcome to think so, but if the general by some miracle RFK gets the nomination, he will win the general election quite handily.
The election will instantly go from being a populist outsider vs the establishment, which favors Trump in a Trump V Biden matchup,to two populists outsiders if it is RFK vs Trump.
If that is the dynamic, RFK will win. The people who support Trump for his populist messaging will have an option, and many in the middle will take it.
It will take a miracle for RFK to overcome the corruption of the democrat party primary process to get the nomination, but if he gets it, he will be the next president.
If you listen to RFK Jr and Trump when it comes to the broad brush items they are largely delivering the same message, but using different language. Kenneth uses terms like captive agencies, Trump uses terms like “the swamp”. But they are both saying the same general things.
Washington isn’t working for you the people…
They have differences on policy, but on the broad brush items, that the fed is corrupt and not working, they are the same. Trump in a Trump Biden race has that narrative and voter all to himself… in an RFK Jr V Trump race that populace voter has a choice, and many many many will take it.
I say all of the above as a Trump supporter, and one of the earliest of them on this site.
RFK’s got has to get past the Primary, if he wins the Primary, he will be the next President. However as I’ve said many times the establishment is going to do everything in their power to stop him from winning the primary. What they have done to Trump for 7-8 will look like child’s play compared to what they will do to RFK Jr to keep him from being the nominee.
One, I doubt he said anything of the sort.
Two, so what?
If both houses agree on something, a Pres has to be hard core to say no.
Finally, “assault weapon” in the pea-sized minds of the gun control Aholes = AR15. The most popular rifle ever. SCOTUS has already ruled that a gun in common use cannot be banned. It would be overturned in the first case to get to them.
Signing off on something you know is illegal is sketchy. Negative points for that. But, knowing it will mean nothing is very...........political.
We already had an assault weapon ban in place for ten years and it was allowed to lapse as it was shown by the US Gov’mt to have no effect. Doing it again is like revisiting prohibition.
This ought to put to bed any conservative enthusiasm for kennedy, except as a possible drain on biden “voters,” although DNC printers are probably already producing hundreds of millions of brandon “ballots”.

Agree, RFK is leaving himself an out. It will be Congress’s fault if he signs it. Kind of makes him nothing more than a Rubber Stamp to Congress.

Except the election won’t come down to what they are same on, it would come down to what they are different on, and that’s where RFK would falter. What are their main differences?
* RFK is anti 2nd amendment - the majority of Americans (left and right) are pro 2nd amendment
* RFK is an environmental radical - he’ll fare better on this issue, but not by much, because it’s low on the list of priorities for all but the youngest voters
* Trump has proven he can reverse an economic downturn and bring about prosperity, RFK has no such track record and so he’ll essentially be asking people to “trust him” that he can fix things. And the economy will be the number one issue in this election, by far.
You also didn’t address the image issue at all, which is his biggest weakness, and one he can’t do anything to change.

Once again, Bannon is pushing RFK as a Trump VP today. Last yr, Bannon wanted to entice the commie Bernie Bros into the ‘populist movement’. Last week, Bannon said that Massie was a CCP asset. Conservatives need to wake up to the fact that this Bannon/Trump populist movement is the destruction of conservatism. It’s disappointing to see so many on the right falling for it. They’re no different than ‘Republicans’ who voted for Biden in 2020. They have no set values.
