The Song of the Marines--Dick Powell with the Warner-Vitaphone Orchestra (1937)
A timely tune, as Shanghai was a war zone in 1937. My father liked to sing this song, even though he was not a Marine, but a sailor--a submariner in the Pacific Theater during WWII.

The heat is a killer for sure. Better to stay inside...
We got half an inch of rain, so I don’t have to water the lawns.
Still have to go into the office for a couple hours to check the mail on Saturday, per usual. So few actually work there now (most everyone is working from home and does not want to go back...LOL) that they are closing the office on Monday. It’s not a holiday (that would be Tuesday), but the office will officially be closed.
I’m hoping for some sun so I can spend some quiet time just sitting out on the deck. Of course, with a little time, maybe, to myself, rain is predicted.
