The entire market is down about 1%.

I agree: I am all in favor of the boycott, but calling out a stock as being affected by a boycott and because it is down 1% when the whole market is down 1% is pretty silly....

Good. Investors are seeing that conservatives really can boycott. Look at AB.

The graphic at the bottom of that web page is worthy of the boycott all on its own, the stupid tweet is just icing on the cake.

If these former colonial powers wish to wallow in self-loathing over the past, fine - just leave us out of it.

Only a gain if you take it

Colonel Miles: What precisely are your lands?

Chief Sitting Bull: These are the lands where my people lived before you whites first came.

Colonel Miles: I don't understand. We whites were not your first enemies. Why don't you demand back the land in Minnesota, the Chippewa forced you from years before?

Chief Sitting Bull: The Black Hills are a sacred land given to my people by Wakan Tanka.

Colonel Miles: How very convenient to cloak your claims in spiritualism. No matter what your legends say, you didn't sprout from the plains like the spring grasses. And you didn't coalesce out of the ether. You came out of the Minnesota woodlands armed to the teeth and set upon your fellow man.

Colonel Miles: You massacred the Kiowa, the Omaha, the Ponca, the Oto and the Pawnee without mercy. And yet you claim the Black Hills, as a private preserve bequeathed to you by the Great Spirit.

Colonel Miles: The proposition that you were a peaceable people before the appearance of the white man is the most fanciful legend of all. You killed each other for hundreds of moons before whites stepped foot on this continent.

Colonel Miles: You conquered those tribes, lusting for their game and their lands just as we have now conquered you for no less noble a cause.

from the movie Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee (2007)

Thanks for the link but I can’t boycott because I never use any of the stuff listed on the link.

in context, all the major indexes were all down this morning. In the case of Unilever, it has been doing better today than the Dow, NASDAQ, and the S&P.

I have boycotted Ben & Jerry’s all my life. I remember when it came out in the 1980s and was touted as being by a couple of hardcore Leftists. I was in high school. I vowed to never try it and I never have.

It’s a yuge list. Over 400 brands. Easiest way I think is to just look at the products you buy. Last I knew Unilver had its name on mist, if not all, somewhere.

If you see Unilever, buy something else.

We’ve been doing it for years.

With the exception of Hellmen’s Mayo I am already boycotting Unilever products. We also might have a jar o Vasoline that was bought in the 1980s

I always laugh at the way the poor native americans are portrayed. They had numerous chances to carve out a fair deal for themselves at every turn they fought...attacked...ambushed....like they had for hundreds of years vs. each other. They were savages-it served them well until they met an enemy they could not compete with. To the victors go the spoils- thats the way its always been.

I’d call it “desperate confirmation bias”.
