“Trump had no leverage because for 4 years the Senate did not recess specifically so Trump could not make a recess appointment,”
Should be reposted daily so that it might sink into the thick skulls of the crybabies whining over Trump’s appointments.
Exactly...every 300 days Trump appoints someone else worse.
A ton of people will take that appointment.
Recess appointment is NOT what I’m talking about.
I’m talking about Trump saying if you don’t approve this guy, I’ll keep appointing interims that you hate even more.
Explain how? How trump screwed up with Sessions, Barr, Wray, McConnell’s wife, etc..?
Or explain how to get his appointments in? I already did...see my few other posts on how to do it.
What part of just keep on appointing interims that are more and more hard right wingers.
What part of just keep on appointing interims that are more and more hard right wingers do you not understand?
Exactly. He should have just kept doing that until they approve his guy.
“DeSantis is an ass. He’ll never be president.”
Really. He has poor character. He never heard that you have to dance with the one what brung you. He knows ... he has SAID ... that he wouldn’t be Governor if not for Trump. Betrayed.
Wow, so I’m the only person in teh world that thought of this strategy?
Ok, why isn’t Trump smart enough or have the right advisors around him to come up with this strategy that anyone with a little stategery in mind can think of?
He'll go crawling back to Florida, but I bet he won't apologize to the people of Florida for lying to them to get their vote last November.
And that won’t happen again in 2024?
You’ll be making excuses in 2028 for him still> I’m saying come up with a plan to work around the RINOs. I already gave one excellent plan. But my plan is not to make excuses and blame others.
Why bring DeSantis into this? He isn’t going to win. You might as well compare Trump’s cabinet to Jeb’s.
IMHO DeSantis jumped the shark on this one.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Quick! Grab your pearls and faint!
I answered your specific question. :-)
Impossible to argue, factually.
Trump's appointments actually strengthened the swamp. Basically every single one. And we're STILL stuck with Wray and Miley.
His defenders will say Trump's appointments are all someone else's fault.
To that I say, Trump is therefore obviously incapable of making appointments on his own. Why in the world would you wanting any more, ever again?
I know one. Waited 3 years to get confirmed
The part where you are spouting nonsense is clear, As a strategy it is ridiculous.
In most cases, O’Connell says you can hold the “acting” title in a job that requires Senate approval for only so long, usually about seven months. Mitch played hardball to block even interim appointments as in the article I posted.
Your plan suggested that there would need to be a continuous search for candidates in multiple positions, chaos every 7 months at change over and legal defense for every strategy McConnell dreamed up to derail. Thank goodness Trump decided to concentrate on the many things he was able to succeed with rather than spinning his wheels on playing musical chairs.. Add in the fact that people were pretending to be MAGA to get in and derail his agendsa.
You're not going to win elections with unlimited voter fraud being the law of the land. Both parties accepted it on January 6th. It's the reason that after 40+ years, I am no longer a member of the Republican Party. I won't belong to a party that doesn't have enough respect for me to even want to protect my ballot from voter fraud. Trying to overturn elections, and voter fraud isn't new. Every election, Democrats have armies of lawyers ready to go to court in order to get military ballots rejected. It's a game to them. Al Gore tried to overturn the 2000 election, but the Supreme Court stopped him. They wouldn't do anything about the voter fraud in 2020.
Republicans in Congress had control of both Houses of Congress at different times over the past 23 years since Gore tried to steal the White House, and they've done nothing. Never even brought up election reform in all that time. They pretend like it doesn't exist.
No; explain how he could have been “more forceful”, particularly in a Constitutional manner.
And no, continuously appointing interim people is not the answer; it’ll make the RINOs double down. Not that I’m against more gridlock in government, that is, but then you’ll have more phony impeachment charges, and this time openly out of the RINOs.
