I will admit, he will not unite the country where we all get along and do what is good for America for the above reason. The demonkkraps are no longer believers in the Declaraion of Independence, Constitution, representative givernment, equal justice under the law, separation of powers ... it is about one party rule. He (representing millions of Americans who are resisting this now) is in the way of the demonkkraps taking this country further into the ####hole. But we are not in the uniting phase, we are in the fighting stage now. Thinking a so called non-toxic candidate will resist the demonkkraps ... not hardly.
What they really want is for both Trump and DeSantis to take each other out.

The problem DeSantis has is that he has to convince millions of Trump voters to vote for him should Trump not be nominated. For those millions, just voting for the GOP nominee is not going to cut it anymore. They learned from the GOPe, who openly did not support or help Trump when he was the candidate or even the POTUS. [I don’t mean to imply the DeSantis is GOPe though I have seen comments here about who is $upporting him. DeSantis may have wrongly chosen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.]

The thing is, all of the current candidates are tainted, because the perception is they all think they are better than Trump, or are just expecting Trump to be taken out of the picture.
Which is why my theory is, if it’s not Trump, the nominee will be someone who isn’t currently in the race. Someone who is keeping their shirt nice and clean, waiting for it all to blow over before jumping in.
And most likely that’s going to be Governor Youngkin.
I agree with your theory as a possible scenario, though don’t count out the uniparty bosses will decide once Trump is out ... and as stoopid as they are ... they could pick someone from the current slate.
From my keyboard, that’s how DeSantis should have played it ... stay in the headlines but out of the race.

The problem is, that the current candidates have all burned their bridges with Trump supporters.
DeSantis should have stayed out of the fray. But I’m convinced the folks that told him to run didn’t have his best interests in mind, because they despise him every bit as much as they do Trump, but they figured they could kill two birds with one stone.
