If I won $100 million in the lottery I’d buy a small condo/co-op on the Upper West Side for an ocasional weekend getaway. If I won $50 million I’d buy a small place in the Connecticut suburbs. And if I won $25 million I’d buy a small place on Staten Island near where Paul Castellano lived.
You are paid big bucks so you are charged big bucks.
Unlimited cash makes NYC fun as hell.
If I won a big lottery jackpot someday, I’d like to visit New York for a few weeks. Stay in a good hotel, hire a guide, and see a lot of the places and things I’ve only read about or seen in movies. Then go away and never return.
I’d like to do the same in Washington DC, too. One long visit, spend plenty of money seeing the sights, then leave forever.
Same thing. But probably Australia. Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.
It's so far away that going there once is enough.
With enough money, I’d see Australia too, and some places in Europe, until I got sick of traveling, which wouldn’t take long.
There is some art in NYC worth seeing.
Cole’s “The Course fo Empire” for example, except we get see that one live in real life.
Right.
From her hospital bed: “I was always so trusting. Silly me.”
Yes.
So many great cities that they have just ruined
They’ve pretty much ruined the entire country.
Yes sir. People living in nyc are in fact, morons.
Not only that. Every other country in the West is following the same path.
Also, they try to spread the problems in the center of the big cities out as far into the suburbs and rural areas as they can.
We were looking at Condos in Miami, and the monthly maintenance fees for them are outrageous. We said “no way”.
I enjoyed Australia especially the people. Nicest on earth. That was in 2004. I hope they are the same.
Piper, dear, you should be looking at that as a test of your sanity.
They went a little crazy during covid. That seemed out of character for them.
I work in NYC but I live two hours away!
The owner of this apartment is probably using these “fees” to make up for all the revenue they lost when they couldn’t evict the last tenant during the COVID fiasco.
Or a rent control work around.
