it differs from the variants targeted by current vaccines.Well the pfizer and moderna better get with it and cook up a whole new vaccine, test it fully and get all trials completed in the next, oh 30 days or so instead of the 8-12 years it normally takes. Surely they already have a modified rna to re-adust the dna of recipients all ready to go. /sarc off

They found it in a person who was “asymptomatic.” If you consider the list of COVID symptoms, you would have to be a young person in perfect health not to have a couple of those symptoms on any given day.

I guess I am ‘an old soul living in a new world’, and this government fear game effects enough people to realize its beginning again. A virus that largely only affects only elderly people with two or three comorbidities will scare the bat guano out of enough people to effect my simple life. Sigh - again.

Gee, I didn’t think of it that way. That is frightening. Thanks for enlightening me. 🤣

2nd person infected? I know two family members who tested positive for covid in the last three weeks. Maybe they had the variant; maybe not. We’ll never know because they treated it like the common cold, and did not waste their time seeking professional medical care.
To: JonPreston
So the individual with the latest strain was asymptomatic. Sounds pretty dangerous.

At this point there are literally thousands of variants out there, it mutates constantly like any any other virus. You cannot make a vaccine as it is DOA before it even comes out.

Who cares. Welcome to the cold and flu season. The only danger is from gov and other stupid people.

Voting standards became looser since strong arming (Think Tammany Hall) became exposed. Ever since absentee voting became watered down (In a lot of States you needed to show cause for why you were voting absentee) more shenanigans occurred. 2020 was a mix of ballot harvesting with loose absentee standards while State and Federal judges blocked actions that would have probed the viability of each entered ENVELOPE not ballot (This was all “perfectly legal”). Only way to counter this is to do “it” better than dems do. Embellishment is the road to winning across the country, use every angle just as dems do. What are they going to say, you finagle the envelopes (Once ballots are in circulation that is permanent) better than us?
BTW, Repubs used to have a lot of tricks and swindling operations as well. Currently dems have that market cornered because Repubs are cucks, milquetoast, and too trustworthy of processes and bureaucratic elements (Helps them stay wealthy and connected). Last great repub strategist was Lee Atwater who was never too scared to dance in the mud.

My virologist friend told me they screwed up.
IF they were trying to lower the population, they should not have used a virus that is spread by people. Those viruses ALWAYS mutate to a less lethal strain because viruses mutate to spread and dead people don’t spread viruses.
He said they should have made the pathogen spread by dogs, but not lethal to dogs. That would kill most of the people in the US. Poochie gets sick, spreads virus to concerned human, concerned human can spread it (secondary form of distribution) and does when he takes dog to vet where dog gives virus to other dogs at the vet and so on...
We would all be gone before we knew what hit us.

The new variant, also spotted in Michigan last week, is causing concern because it stems from an 'earlier branch' of the coronavirus, so it differs from the variants targeted by current vaccines. So it’s from the 2024 Election batch?
