The pro-Z cannot allow -- and perhaps cannot fathom -- that there can be any other opinion than theirs excepting what they assign to be "pro-Putin." This simplistic, dualist argument is inane, but it is what they have.
Other perspectives: 1) Pro-Ukrainian people while anti-Zelensky; 2) Pro-Russian people while anti-Putin, 3) various versions of "not my circus and not my clowns" based on either the massive and rapidly rising US national debt, or a rejection of the old neo-con "world's policeman" argument.
What is without question. The pro-Z crowd is fully aligned with the Biden-Blinken-Nuland foreign policy. For this one in particular has often cited an actual endorser of Biden in the 2020 election as some kind of "authoritative voice" to add to discussion and debate.
What is also true -- none can actually cite ANY Western authority for this -- is that there is no "official" NATO nor American declaration of war, although it is presented as if there was.
Each time when such an assertion had been made publicly -- as happened here, in the EU and in Germany -- the politicians walked this back as soon as possible. It is an "official" war between two non-NATO nations. It is of course an "unofficial" war for everybody. Legalities matter. The consequences of policies matter. The backfiring of many of the sanctions matter. And this was will be over, in time, unless it is gamed to become a "DMZ-style" frozen conflict, which would require Russia to play along. I suspect our US support will be along the lines of the "Afghan" model, which was of course REALLY crucial until "oh well, bye."
