That’s what I remember too ie “Irump depended on the ‘experts’”

Trump was out of his element.

Did Trump declare a state of emergency while in office? I can’t remember.

Like the people who blame Trump for the response to Covid three years after the fact, their hindsight is in their hind-end.

I was listening to Kristi Noemi talking about “the government” shutting everything down. She never mentioned that she and Trump were the government at the time. Kemp was right. Trump was wrong. Big time.

Your comparison of Kemp to Noem is backwards.

Kemp shutdown down bars and clubs on March 24th.

Kemp shutdown all K-12 schools on April 1, through to the end of the school year in June.

On April 2, Kemp issued a statewide shelter in place order.

On April 8th Kemp extended the statewide shelter in place order through to the end of April.

On April 24, Kemp opened gyms, hair salons, bowling alleys and tattoo parlors, with movie theaters and restaurants at 50% capacity allowed to reopen on April 27.

Noem never shut anything down.

And Trump didn't force any governor to shutdown down. Kemp's shutdown is on him.

And Trump only wanted Kemp to wait another week or so to open up.

YES, great answer
“Yes, Trump screwed up there in hindsight.

But to be fair, at that time, nobody was really sure what we were dealing with.”

"The fact is former president Trump led the opposition to my decision to reopen Georgia - the first state in the country to do so."

Too bad you weren't so concerned about voter fraud in your State, Mr. Kemp. You actually helped it happen, then covered it up, because you couldn't possibly let people know the length and breadth of the voter fraud that occurred under your watch.

Yes the consent abrams / Kemp decree.

That was Raffensperger. Kemp had nothing to do with it.

People giving Trump a pass because “he trusted the experts” are forgetting that it does not take an expert to understand that the government does not give rights and cannot take them away - even for an emergency. Period.

True conservatives knew instantly in March 2020, no matter if Covid was real or not, that you could not order, or even suggest, lockdowns because they were UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

The NM Governor was paying attention - watched Trump/Fauci, and now says, “Hold My Beer...”

"We knew it had little effect on healthy people children, and also we knew that lockdowns would leave the economy in shambles."

You knew that on day one? My, aren't you a genius. What are you wasting your time on FR for? You could have had Fauci's job, been a national hero, saved the 2020 election from being stolen, and saved us all this trouble.

Trump is extremely vulnerable on this issue. It’s time DeSantis others take it to him.

DeSantis is just as bad on this issue.

Fauci knew…. COVID was going to be performed regardless of who was US President.. Although complete and total lockdown would have been the case had Hillry stole the election. COVID became the means and method to steal a presidential election…

Wrong. Noem wanted to go to lockdown - the SD legislature shut her down instead.

Probably trying to do some due diligence and not wanting to follow Chinese public health actions, but instead considering using the protocols we had in place.

Also not pushing emergency approval of a mRNA technology that couldn’t ever get through even a single clinical trial for more than a decade.

Trump owns the fiasco that has occurred by handing his power over to Fauci and the HHS swamp. He needs to fess up and apologize.

"Brian Kemp has been probably Georgia's best governor in the 21st century"

Brian Kemp/Stacey Abrams. What a team.

But to be fair, at that time, nobody was really sure what we were dealing with.

Bingo!

Trump was listening to the nation's top experts while in the same moment Kemp had no concern over being impeached for ignoring those experts. The circumstances were so different as to make any comparison as Kemp now tries to do irrelevant.

Kemp may be a "high profile" Republican, but it is for all the wrong reasons.

You want to pretend that Kemp didn’t know what his Secretary of State was doing, yet you want to blame Trump for what Pence and the Covid Response Team did? Pence is the one who appointed Debra Birx to the task force, along with the others that came in after he took over for Alex Azar as task force head.

Sure he didn't.. which is he the most stupid white boy in Georgia that won the governorship twice? Or the fair haired winner of the top job and made peace to give away both senate seats? This whimper out of the two face lying Kemp comes on the heels of a deep state dive with Boehener, Judas Pence And that little fella from Florida… the empty vassals incorporated!

It never fails. The libs do something and if it blows up in their faces, the try to blame conservatives. Trump did not lock down the country.

According to Enrique Armijo, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Professor of Law at Elon University School of Law:

“In the United States’ system of federalism, the power to take actions for public safety emergencies generally lies with states and localities,” Armijo said. “The federal government doesn’t really have the authority or police force to implement and enforce a nationwide lockdown.”

Seven states—Arkansas, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming—did not issue orders directing residents to stay at home from nonessential activities in March and April 2020 in response to the coronavirus pandemic. If the president was in power to do that, they would have been guilty of sedition. The only closing that a president can do is with a foreign border of which only North Dakota falls under and only om that border unless the state is taken over then the foreign threat extends.

Every order to lockdown the remaining states was done by the governor of the state involved. The president can’t even send in troops to assist the problem without the governor asking for help. And that includes D.C.

This article is krap and a flat lie.
