Of course a Manchin/Romney party could easily pull a lot of disenchanted Democrats from Biden.

If Trump is on the ballot, given the hatred they have for Trump, I see little to no chance they would do anything to hurt the Democrat’s chances.

You may not believe it, not everyone who votes for Trump is 100% in love with him, they won’t vote Democrat, but a moderate alternative might attract some.

Romney has no chance to win anything, he only needs a small fraction of the votes to potentially swing the outcome in a few very close states.

Go back and look at the results in 2016 when Trump won, it’s naive to think a Romney candidacy could not get 20-30,000 votes in a few states where well over 1 million people vote.

Trump would not have won in 2016 if a candidate like Romney had been running 3rd party.

Who better to lead with a new party than someone who’s lost multiple presidential elections and never won any.

Indeed, when it comes to individual issues, not everyone agrees with every conservative position on every single issue.

Even liberals, don’t agree with every liberal position espoused by the Democrats and their liberal activists.

And when you get into personalities and behaviors, there has been plenty of criticism here on Free Republic, of Trump and his behavior and name calling and all of that.

All of this and more affects how people ultimately vote in an election .

Yep. That's what it's all about. Milt and Manchin, and/or Sinema, all playing their positions like good little Communists and in Milt's case... well, you know.

White Horse and all that ***t.

The “Hill” articles read like a version of The Babylon Bee! 13 words into the article appeared the word “centrist”, quit reading right there. Such losers, all of them.

Romney isn’t out of the Senate..
He’s there till January 2025 per his own words..

If pierre delecto wants to make his own party and jump in to the 2024 Presidential race, it’ll that much more fun to see Trump hand him his lunch daily on the campaign trail..

We have a wacko Female Democratic Mayor here in Jacksonville, she won because the two Republicans in the primary ran of the most negative campaigns, I’ve seen against each other and spent incredible amounts of money.

in the general election, the Democrat won because the Republican had run out of money and other Republicans stayed home after the trash that was thrown at them in the primary.

Don’t think that can’t happen in the Presidential election, Trump and his loyal supporters go scorched earth on anyone perceived as the slightest bit disloyal.

Trump personally has savaged DeSantis, Kemp, Reynolds just to name a few.

His surrogates have called DeSantis a FAG, claim his wife faked cancer and had kids as a political prop.

That kind of negative campaigning could easily turn off 1-2% of the Republican voters, that’s all it takes if Romney runs to throw the election.
