There was an aircraft mechanic that died in a fuel tank that was purged with nitrogen and not properly vented.
The truth ignored and deflected is not refuted.
The truth? The truth is lifers have nothing left to lose and will kill inside the confines of a prison.
Both the Bible and the Constitutional clearly allow for the death penalty.
Period.

My point was that the national sentiment seems to be moving toward abolishing it.
I don’t think they are awake when the finsl injection is given. (humans) I think that would fall under cruel and unuaual.
My cat received a nice sedative to put her gently to sleep they they gave a final injection and it was over in seconds.
That’s been the case with my animals, too. I’m not sure it is with human execution.
GREAT comments BUMP!
Jesus himself said those who harm children should be drowned in the sea.
Are you arguing with Jesus?

Jesus didn’t say that. He is quoted as saying ‘it would be better’ for them to be drowned.
He could have been speaking of divine retribution for their acts, not that they SHOULD be drowned.
Why would any body be disgusted by a botched execution, the more horribly the MURDERERS DIE the more we should all enjoy it.
Somebody Somewhere once said that ‘Vengeance is Mine’.
You are promoting vicious revenge and suggesting we enjoy it.
There are no problems or issues with getting the drugs if its “physician” assisted suicide. Only for convicted death row inmates.
Protecting society from killers is not vengeance. Again, killers given life sentences have nothing left to lose and will kill other inmates and guards.
“Jesus didn’t say that. He is quoted as saying ‘it would be better’ for them to be drowned.”
A distinction without a difference. He clearly contemplated their deaths for harming children. Someone would have had to do it. He wasn’t gonna miracle that millstone around their necks.

You beat me to it...
The Old Covenant was in play until Jesus’ death and resurrection. Jesus is the one who said the Old Covenant of the Law was replaced by the New Covenant of Grace (Hebrews 8 & 10). Seems to me, you are the one who is arguing with Jesus.
I think you’re reading it the way you want.
He did not instruct us to drown them ourselves. If He had thought we should do so, He would have stated it differently.
Except when He was obviously speaking in or of parables, Jesus was pretty clear.
His/her suggestion that they deserve to suffer horribly and that we should ENJOY it certainly smacks of vengeance.
