Married people (regardless of sex or skin shade or economic ranking) are more likely to vote republican, single people (regardless of sex or skin shade or economic ranking) are more likely to vote democrat.
That is because one has a family to care for and the other wants the government to be their family.
Unfortunately, a politician who advocates that has nothing to sell. Trump understands that he has to sell something to win.
We can hope some people, at least, learned the lesson about the value of government leaving one alone during COVID. But the average voters still asks "What do I get out of it?" first, and Democrats are very good at selling them promises to be paid for by the tax dollars of others.

I suspect ILinois vote fraud pattern occurs elsewhere as well. Many vote LP in protest of R and D. The majority party of an area does not steal (many) votes from the other major party. What they do is steal the votes of the 3d party voters and of those who take a pass on a particular race and vote other offices; but not the office where no candidate is liked.
