Congress last passed a budget in 1996. We have been operating on continuing resolution’s for decades now. And in 2009 under Obama (IIRC), the amount for the CR was increased by a large amount and has never been reduced.
They do the CR allowing funding for a few weeks, promising to deal with the issue of spending cuts in them meantime. No one mentions it again until the “emergency” arrives once again and then every government department is given a 10% increase and the spending and debt does nothing but increase.
But, let’s kick that rusty can down the pot-holed filled path once again.
