You are welcome to pay The New York Times for the original article. I however prefer not to enrich the far left NYT Media Company.

"The constellation of Mr. Trump’s 2025 plans amounts to an assault on immigration on a scale unseen in modern American history. Millions of undocumented immigrants would be barred from the country or uprooted from it years or even decades after settling here."

In response to an unprecedented invasion of illegals "unseen in modern American history". Good for Trump.

That is a wonderful plan-and if many/most of those mojados leave voluntarily before being kicked out, it will save the states a lot of money, too....

“…was named for an ethnic slur — “Operation Wetback.”“

Wetback was nothing more than a reference to their sneaking into this country by crossing the Rio Grande . Descriptive not a slur.

Hiring 85000 ICE agents would be a start.

Under the Biden administration, “Operation Wetback” has been renamed “Operation Soggy Breakfast Tacos”

I call them mojado/s, even in posts-that is considered an ethnic slur by some-I’m a Native Texan Hispanic, and I use it-it literally just means “wet”-but in the vernacular re: illegals means “wetback”...

I view the article as anti-Trump propaganda.

One of things, I thought of while driving across the western US was the amount of land that the government owns and how little of it is utilized for much more than grazing or logging.

Perhaps some kind of “New Homestead Act” where an immigrant would be given enough land (depending on location and local resources) to live a subsidence lifestyle. Say 40 acres if water is available for crops and livestock. Say more if it would take more. The key would be they would be given citizen ship after say ten years and get to keep or purchase the land for a pittance provided they stay off of all federal aid and that they have no criminal record.

This country really does need hard working people to become productive earners to prop up Social Security, Medicare, Public pensions, etc. Immigrants who want to work hard and build a better life should be encouraged to stay. Immigrants looking for an easy hand out or not willing to assimilate should be kept out.

Why? Why not just send the illegals back?

The last wave of homesteaders a little over a century ago got poor land and didn’t stay on it.

Looking at the recent arrivals, very few of the look like homesteaders.

Sounds good. To speed things up, allow people to voluntarily turn themselves in, waive any due process “rights” and be sent back immediately. How do you incentivize that? Make the alternative as unpleasant as is legally possible.

>> Words ≠ Actions

Elect President Trump, and the “actions” will soon follow.

President Trump, MORE THAN PERHAPS ANY PRESIDENT EXCEPT REAGAN AND OBAMA, demonstrated ACTIONS and RESULTS that flowed from his campaign “words”.

(I included Obama because his actions DID result a “fundamental transformation of America”, which was his wordy promise. To our detriment! And none of the other midgets running for POTUS under the R flag except Trump will change that.)

The constellation of Mr. Trump’s 2025 plans amounts to an assault on immigration on a scale unseen in modern American history.

That assault on a scale unseen in all American history has taken place by Teddy Nancy Obama Clinton Biden. Trump's plan would merely return us to sanity.
