I’ve had similar discussions with some people, about how Trump was President for 4 years and he did not become a dictator.
I just briefly told these people a few things, such as that in Hitler’s first four years,they had outlawed various political parties , Hitler and his cabinet had passed emergency declarations so that they were ruling by decree, about how Jews had lost their citizenship, and how they reached the point where Germany didn’t even have elections anymore , that Hitler was just the Führer and that was it.
And I tried to make the point that if Trump was really like Hitler, wouldn’t Trump have taken such actions in his four years.
But talking to some people who do not have critical thinking skills and reasoning abilities seems pointless sometimes.
