Hey there, Kathy.

You did have a messy day up there. It’s too bad you didn’t get a good dumping of snow to cover all the water and ice that’s going to turn really slick when the temp drops.

We had some drizzly rain today but I don’t know how much we got. I’d brought the rain gauge in a few nights ago when it dropped below freezing and I forgot to put it back out for today. *sigh*

Now the temp is dropping and we have two cold days ahead with lows in the upper 20s. Back into the 50s mid-week and they say a high of 64 next Sunday. The roller coaster ride continues. LOL

A very pleasant good Monday morning to everyone at the Canteen and to all our military at home and abroad. Thanks for your service to our country.

Yesterday at Comanche Lake:

We also had KFC supper yesterday and we'll have more of it today.

How's everyone doing this morning?

I did get some rest this weekend. I just found my list of things to do, and none are done. Oh well...it was a good break from the norm. LOL!

Did you get any measurable rain?

Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))

Mighty pretty day over there yesterday. Did you need to bundle up for your outing with Gizmo? If you got the wind we’re getting here and will have through tomorrow, it added a bite to the air. BRRRRRR

Rest was more important than the list of things to do. LOL It would have been nice to accomplish at least one thing. Kind of a drag having little things hanging over your head. You’ll get to them one day.

I have no clue how much rain I got today because I forgot to put the rain gauge back out. *sigh* Probably not more than a tenth of an inch because it didn’t rain hard. They say we have a good shot at rain next weekend when a warm front comes through though.

Good evening, esopman...Shemya is a little far from anything, but still close to Russia.

I did have to bundle up a little bit but it wasn’t too cold. I think it’s supposed to warm up some through the week.

A BIG STICK? Wise decision. Glad your first encounter caused no “damage”.

Did you get lucky and not have much wind? We’ll have mid 40s the next two days but the wind will be strong, giving us a wind chill around freezing. Wind takes all the fun out of things. We warm up mid-week, at least, and it’s something to look forward to.

Good morning, E...((HUGS))...Gizmo got a lot of adventuring done at Comanche Lake, and looks like he really enjoyed roaming all over the place.

And then KFC...

You guys have a great Monday.

Didn’t have any wind at all. Just felt a little bit cooler and that was it. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Lucky you! LOL
The wind’s already picking up here and it makes it feel colder than it is. I had to step outside for a minute and was more than happy to get back inside.
Now it’s about time to curl up under the warm covers and get some shut-eye.

Have a good romp with Gizmo later today.

My father played an important role in the Berlin airlift. At the start of the operation aircraft could only fly under visual flight rules because Temple Hoff did not have the radars and associated instruments to fly in bad weather which often occurred. The radar equipment was too big to be sir lifted. So my dad figured out a way to essentially cut them in half so that they could fit on the planes and then be easily reconnected on the ground. It allowed continuous operations.

My dad enlisted in 1936, was at Hickman Field on Dec 7th, 1942 served the entire WW2 in the Pacific, earned a direct commission after attaining the highest enlisted rank at the time and then retired as a full Colonel

I dragged off to bed right after that. I had just remembered, after all the news of the evening, that I had never posted on the thread. LOL!
