In Canada at Walmart it now cost $6.97 for a pound of ground beef... Consider yourselves lucky!
BTW -

A dozen eggs... $5.00
A gallon of gas... $5.84 to $6.80
A pack of smokes... $18 to $25 per pack, $140+ per carton
A 24 case of beer.. $25 to $44
Yes, states like California where the minimum wage for fast food workers will be $20/hour in April -it’s already $15.50/hour, highest in the nation.
There were VERY few workers when I went to McDonald’s a few days ago - all ordering was done from a kiosk - ordering from your phone was also encouraged - there was one guy on the drive-thru (which will soon be replaced by AI) - a couple of cooks in the back and one guy to bring out the food.
When the “Five Dollar Foot Long” was still a thing, they didn’t offer it in California.
“one separate McRib and two hamburger patties for the dogs - $27.”
Are you actively trying to poison your dogs ?
Some dog lover should notify PETA
Well, rather than paying high scool kids as a supplemental income a few bucks an hour and rather paying illegal adults 30 bucks an hour as their full time career, to flip burgers, the prices tend to creep up a wee bit
Five Guys burger, fries, drink is $23. In Michigan.
LOL, I assume the patties are real meat? And not “plant-based” - McDonald’s brags about its 100% all-beef patties - maybe we’re being lied to?
Got the patties w/0 salt or any seasoning.
Dogs are fine.
I remember when I could get a big mac for 45 cents.
I’m old enough to remember when the local McDonald’s had a “three for a dollar” menu - used to stop there after high school and pick up a cheeseburger, fries and a drink - for $1.00.
Taco Bell had same.
Wendy’s Junior Bacon Cheese burger and a water, $3.
Six piece chicken nuggets and a water, $3 (cheaper than the 4 pc.)
Either one is a meal for me.
Littleton, CO area.
I bought two 5” subs from Capriotti’s yesterday. $20. 5” subs.
If fast food isn’t CHEAP, then why go there?
For the service?
For the ambiance of the drive through?
We have the Wendy’s Biggie Bag, a Double Cheeseburger or Chicken BLT Sandwich, 4 Nuggets, Small Fry and Small Drink for $6.00.
Cincinnati burbs.
oh crap! Biden is in trouble now! you are messing with the inner cities McDonalds burgers!
Looks like folks in the hood will be eating a lot of welfare green pepper burgers.
In a lot of areas prices are driven up by mandatory wage increases (”living wages”). Labor costs for fast food restaurants run about 25% of the total costs for the restaurant. If wages for workers double, then the prices have to jump by about 25% just to cover the increased costs, unless the restaurateur cuts staff to make up for the sudden shortfall. Add in the increase in supply costs due to rampant inflation and the prices rise quite a bit.
When the Big Mac debuted in Pennsylvania...it was $.45.
I worked for Krystal at the time, I was 16, and our hamburgers were $0.15. Now today they are $0.75 at our local Krystal.............and they are smaller...............and I think teh ‘Big Mac’ is too..........
