The root of it is, it isn’t a case. This is a Soviet Show Trial, not a real case that will be tried and adjudicated in a rational and fair matter.
Given Trump’s track record, his charges are likely quite true.
Sorry. I disagree. In a normal case, that might well be true. But this is not a case judged by facts and law. It is a political persecution.

As a presidential candidate and ex-president on new ground because no president in history has ever been attacked the way he has with this lawfare, he should NOT be the one making these charges. If a third party in his campaign or perhaps some one like Tucker Carlson had made the disclosure as to Engoron’s wife’s comments, it would have reflected so much more positively on Trump as he would have maintained the moral high ground and not violated any orders but gotten the same result. Remember how many times Tony Soprano raised his hands in an “I’m not touching that” or “Don’t touch me with that” gesture, so his captains knew what they were into was okay so long as they didn’t connect him with any dastardly deed in any way. This is not really that hard for anyone to figure out. That’s what worries me.
