I have a system for that. I only shop online. I save all year in the Credit Union Christmas Club. They send me a check in November. I put it in savings at our bank. I shop online with my credit card that pays exceptional rewards. Move the Christmas money to checking and pay off the credit card without paying any interest. Spend my rewards.
I went to our local upscale mall couple days before Christmas and very few people had any bags in their hands.
People are going to the mall to look and try but, buying online...
All the Asian restaurants had lines of customers waiting.
Two had more than 100 just standing around for what I guess is the best ramen ever?
Not me...
I left...
won’t be back.
online works for me
Agree.
From the sound of it, he’s bucking for the stand-in replacement for Biden if it comes to that.
I'd expect nothing less from Pravda.
Not enough context in 2 aspects. First, the article states that these numbers are not adjusted for inflation, so the "nearly 5%" increase gets reduced by 3.2% due to inflation effects (Oct '22 - Oct '23). So now you're down to maybe 1.7% growth. BUT, the article is only comparing ONLINE sales year-over-year.
Of course, online sales have been increasing as a percentage of the whole since the first internet shop opened. Frankly, I think Jeff Bezos would be looking for people to fire at Amazon if online sales only accounted for an additional 1.7% of the market vs. "brick-and-mortar" shops from '22 to '23.
Show us total retail sales YoY from both online and physical stores for the holiday season and then we can talk.
Did one get less for more?
“Holiday spending sets new record online: Report“
The message was paid for by the committee to re-elect Traitor Joe.
5% is less than biden flation.. The truth they don’t want you to know...
they paid more, but got less.
It’s a sure bet
OUR MALL IS IN CRIME-RIDDLED MEMPHIS, 2 HOURS ROUND TRIP. MY GUN IS NOT ALLOWED,
I was in Memphis a couple weeks ago, made a stop there on our annual trip North for Christmas. We usually pass right through since I’ve heard of it being unsafe. But we’ve driven by that pyramid (Bass Pro Shop) more than a dozen times and wanted to take a look. Had a good time there, and went downtown for a good dinner and hotel a not far from Beale.
We were fine, but... yeah, saw a couple drug dealers casually doing business on the sidewalk and some others that seemed sketchy. Assume outside what is ostensibly the tourist area downtown, it would be wise to not be there.
Seems like most malls these days require a lot of situational awareness and tool to defend yourself.
