It was based on the gullibility of idiots. I saw so-called educated people falling for it. I lost all respect for those idiots.
I wonder what happened to all the plexiglass “shields” at stores and restaurants? Likely taking up space at local landfills next to the worn out blades from the giant wind turbines. Sadly masking has become a near religion among the sheep little different than acifidity bags their great grandparents wore to ward off the Spanish flu.
LOCK HIM UP.
That was the original deal....they added the masks well after that. That was based on how far your coughing would fly.
There’s was also a 15 minute time attached. at some point.
Everything the “experts” told us was a deliberate lie, or completely wrong.
500 years from now historians will look at the available artifacts and media from the lock down and conclude that COVID-19 killed off all of the heterosexual White men in America because they didn’t wear masks and get vaccinated.
“...the vast majority of people are far too stupid and/or lazy to have even given it a moment’s thought.”
No kidding. I see face masks with gaping hole straight to the nose and mouth. These people don’t understand anything about how unprotected they really are and how totally useless those paper masks are at preventing viral infection. The level of stupidity and lack of common sense is astonishing.
Social distancing does work, just not in the way that it was implemented.
Re: 29 - and that was not the optimal solution if you can’t be around people.
At one point NYC wanted it to be 13’ distance. That didn’t last long.
Fauci should be in Prison.
You’re getting warmer.
Nothing was based on data.
Saw it yesterday in the Bayview District while having coffee with a friend.
Walking alone, driving alone.
Even saw one who had clear drapes off their umbrella.
idiocy...
sadly, there were a bunch of people on this site defending it. posting sneeze videos, screaming the ‘sky is falling’ the cdc is right, we need to shut ourselves for 14 days, etc., etc.
i derided them as the ‘Projectile Olympics’ crowd. sigh.
(If you have not seen this, it is hilarious and SPOT ON! Especially his take on distancing rules in restaurants and beaches...:)
that was the best part of the Covid bullshit.
Nobody up on top of me in line, and restaurants sat every other booth,
Mostly, chickenshits stayed home so i had less people to deal with.
At the height of masking stupidity, I was on a bike trail not wearing a mask, and a woman on a bike came towards me, and as she struggled to get her mask on her face, weaving all over, with a closing speed of near 25 mph, I thought to myself:
“This woman is completely insane. She is risking killing herself via a broken neck to comply with this stupidity.”
It was a windy day, we were passing each other at that speed, and I also thought that had to be one Houdini of a virus, if I could be infected, exhale at that speed and that wind, and have it make its way all they over to be inhaled by her and deposited in her respiratory system.
Insanity.
“That was the best part of the Covid bullshit.”
The best part for me was the parks and beaches were EMPTY! They blocked off the parking at the Foothills Park in Palo Alto, CA, but I parked a half mile down the road and walked in. I had the entire 1,400 acre park to myself and there wasn’t a single airplane in the sky! I ripped the stupid safety tape off the benches and just sat there after a five mile hike enjoying the solitude.
The “safety” tape on the benches had to be the stupidest thing ever. Here you are, outside in the great outdoors, fresh breeze in your face, TPTB say “you can’t have anybody sitting next to you - it’s too dangerous” so they close off ALL the park benches. Absolute, utter insanity.
