Another heart warming story about our betters.
Apparently, the charging stations freeze also.
LOL
Electric vehicle owner describes nightmare car scenario in cold weather:

“I think just someone needs to come out here to make sure things are OK, because it’s not OK,” said another Tesla driver John Baldys.”
Who would that someone be? The EV Battery Charging Station Cold Weather Inspection Team? Or the EVBCSCWIT for short.
Did the electricity freeze? (picturing a Merry Melodies cartoon.)
Although I suppose these cars could work again if they were able to get a good electrical charge, I do have some concern that a EV could be totaled by a cold snap. You never know.
Stupidity has consequences.
They should have to answer and explain themselves.
I'd love to see Biden twist and turn having to explain why EVs don't work. That would be worth all of the pain that people are suffering because of EVs.
Don’t worry, their smug will keep them warm.
However, this is for scooters. Automobiles take too much power to switch the battery.
This story is still funny, I don’t care how many times it gets posted.
If they put those things in the hood here in the US, they won’t last a week.
I had read somewhere earlier that the EV batteries would not charge at below 32 degrees. Don’t know if this is true, but obviously, they are a serious detriment in very cold weather. I guess it would be best not to own one unless you are wealthy enough to also own an ICE vehicle. In my case, I guess it works to my advantage to be unable to afford an EV. Right now it is pretty cold here, but above zero. I bet my 19 yr. old Buick will start as if it was much warmer & probably only lose about 2 mpg if I drive it around. Try that with your EV. Oh, yes...I can use the heater all I want to. P.S.....I didn’t pay a fortune for it either.
This story makes me feel good about my old but reliable ICE vehicle.
Seven times now?
But a very good idea. The charging station can use extremely high voltages too — to shorten the charging times.
But you have to be careful that the lithium ion battery doesn't blow up.
EVs have a long way to go.
I think that the charging station senses if the battery is too cold. Probably a safety issue or maybe it would take way too long to charge.
Anyway, Tesla recommend preconditioning the battery which is the same as heating the battery. Heat means electrical energy.
If Trump were President you could roll up to $1.50/gal gas.
