Refugees fleeing whatever hellhole they are from and then go to Mexico are safe in Mexico.
The remain in Mexico (RTM) policy created by Trump in January 2019 was the RIGHT policy towards refugees. Refugees only have to flee to where they are safe. Why should they get to decide to skip through to the best country when they supposedly left harassment, death or persecution in the homeland?
In fact, only a handful of the millions seeking asylum are doing it for the actual reasons it was invented. There’s no right to seek asylum so you can get a job or welfare benefits. Jobs and welfare are for American citizens.
Biden rescinding the RIM policy is why we’re at where we’re at now, with millions entered and entering.
It is not logical to allow by agreement 3000 bank robberies per year. If something is illegal one can’t allow any of it.

I suspect from their standpoint they know that Ukraine is going to collapse anyway and even giving them money won’t help, since the Russians, Chinese, and North Koreans WILL NOT sell arms to Ukraine (and, of course, the West is unable to produce more than token quantities of weapons at this point), so any money going to Ukraine can be used to buy just about anything...other than weapons.
So, given the above, Obama likely figures that it’s worth cutting Ukraine loose now, if the price for keeping the money spigot going to Ukraine is a Secure Border, which is something that they can EVER permit.

Utilizing your idea #2, and the fact that soon their fiat dollars become worthless, the illegals will find that they will be penny-less in the US, but multi-millionaires in their homeland, they will self-deport pronto.

Because the Democrat only want to give money to Ukraine. They don’t care about the illegal invasion. Forcing the border issue by denying Ukraine funds is the right thing to do.
