Yes which probably plays somewhat into the Western resistance. Europe conceded Czechoslovakia, but not Poland. Europe conceded Crimea, but not the Donbass. Both leaders have/had historical claims and alleged grievances. And on the surface the west does have historical justificstion for drawing a line and fearing further aggression. But I am not discounting other possibilities for motives on all sides such as NATO expansion, corruption, megalomania, ethnicity you name it. It’s Just that this happens to be the topic of the thread.
It’s a good question- Putin did give Tucker some documents. Putin did claim the Ukranian FM signed off on some pages but I’m not sure if those signed pages were part of the claimed documents. To be clear I was referring to peace talks or negotiations, not a deal. Clearly no deal was made. Putin claims Johnson at the behest of Biden scuttled the negotiations and ended the talks.
That said, often proposed deals never make the light of day sometimes not to prejudice future negotiations. Another example is the Clinton deal with Arafat in 1999. That offer was never published but was alluded to many times by people involved in the final status discussions. Clinton even reportedly told GWB to forget about the Palestinian deals and thsf they could not be trusted to sign off on anything they negotiated. I wish that offer was made public too.

I suspect Leftist influence in our current leadership and policy Hillary Clinton for example.
Young Leftists like Tony Blair, David Cameron and Keir Starmer in the UK also play a role in the Western hostility to Russia in its modern yet imperfect form.
Hillary of course on the one hand a Leftist who became a Politician assuming the position for the Military Inudstrial Complex and its approach to US-Russia relations.

That’s true. Prior to Nazi Germany turning its back on its ally the Soviet Union and invading it in June, 1941, the commies in the US were big proponents of isolationism.

This is what we should expect since we went the way Bill Clinton started us on with NATO expansion back in 1997.

Former Soviet satellite countries clamoring to join NATO once they were rid of the Russian yoke? That’s not hostility. That is what former captives do when they have the chance: Align with others as protection against their former captors coming after them again.
Bill Clinton was friendly with Russia. Hell, he had previously spent time in Russia, before he went into politics.

I disagree. Russia created the first communist super-state. And Russia set itself as the political, social, economic, and military center of that super-state. Many in Russia pine for the “good old days” of the Soviet Union (perhaps that’s why the Soviet red flag with hammer-and-sickle is still prominently displayed in Russia).
In any event, today Russia exhibits more fascist tendencies than communist (but the two are just flipsides of the socialist coin).
So, there IS justification for equating modern Russia with both communism and fascism.
