No it is not. Remember when Russia asked the West to join NATO? Clinton era I believe, they said no. IF they were allowed to join NATO, we would have saved $$$ Trillions , and Peace and Prosperity would have engulfed Europe.
Eff NATO...They’re freeloaders and mostly anti American countries who don’t pay their bills while demanding the U.S. taxpayers protect them and foot the bill.

Trump: I think NATO may be obsolete. NATO was set up a long time ago — many, many years ago when things were different. Things are different now. We were a rich nation then. We had nothing but money. We had nothing but power. And you know, far more than we have today, in a true sense. And I think NATO — you have to really examine NATO. And it doesn’t really help us, it’s helping other countries. And I don’t think those other countries appreciate what we’re doing.

Many Americans, if not most, have soured on NATO and recognize it for the sick, uneven, and parasitic alliance that it is. If Trump is elected after openly stating his distain for NATO, then it can be concluded that the American public is sick of NATO and we should end it.
That’s a warning? I call it a promise.

A POTUS can violate an existing treaty, rendering it null and void.
And nobody can stop him as long as he holds the office.
Even if removed from office, that treaty is still void due to violation.
It would have to be redone.
Why do WE need NATO. Are they going to send troops to the US if China invades us? I mean to help us fight, not take their share of the booty? Eff them, Europe in general is anti American and doomed to being overrun by Africans and Mohammadens. If we take the time to secure our country, they can drift off into the New Dark Ages, and we can be safe and secure at home. WE DON’T NEED ANY OF THEM to live a good life.

The US has a treaty obligation to NATO. It’s not like the phoney “Paris Agreement” which doesn’t even exist on paper. Trump can’t take us out unilaterally by executive order or some such. He knows it, Bolton knows it, but getting airtime even with a smear is always worth it to the likes of Bolton.
All we are to NATO is troops to defend their countries so they don’t have to, pull us out.
