"The Russian economy in 2023 outpaced both the United States and Europe in terms of growth, increasing in size by 3.6% despite being subject to a wide array of powerful economic sanctions and being cut off from major global markets".

“Japan needs to vastly expand in nuclear power, with the latest up-todate modern safe small modular nuclear power plant designs, to end its dependence on energy imports, and the weight of that on its economy.”

No hurry, though, as they get most of their gas from Russia, which is, by far, the most dependable trading partner in the world...not to mention the low prices. And Japan has also told the Neocons to SHOVE IT and they will continue with their projects in Eastern Russia.

We watch a lot of NHK tv and from what we see Japan has a very civilized and tech advance society, they’ll recover.

That CNBC number sounds like it is from 2022, not 2023.

Japans GDP per capita has been running behind Germany since 2012. This is I think primarily due to demographics.

Japan got old. Many retirees so they are no longer contributing to the workforce.

There are many immigrants in Germany. Many of them are Muslim but not all of them. I assume a lot of them are Poles.

A large proportion are Eastern Euros, apparently including a lot of Russians. And you can add the Turks, who are quite good workers. The Muslim and African “refugees” are another story. There aren’t THAT many of them.
