Time folks understood that.
I’ve been saying get to know your state politicians better than you know the DC ones. Shore up your state and local governments.
Only 25 Governors support Governor Abbot. Call your governors. State reps. Tell them help close the border.
“As of today, 21 members of House Republicans have announced they will not seek re-election in 2024.”
Conservatives:
Dan Bishop (R-NC)
Jeff Duncan (R-SC)
Alex Mooney (R-WV) (running for senate)
Mark Green (R-TN)
Debbie Lesko (R-AZ)
Did McCarthy, McConnell and Trump Rose dale him to ensure they have a fully compliant tyrannist instead of someone with the stronger record of defending freedom. #BigPharmaCorruptocrats
How many Democrats have announced they aren’t running? Does anyone have a count?
I keep wondering if they are seeing an upcoming blue wave.
I don’t know enuff about their seats to know if they are safe or not.
There will be a blue wave in the 24 election cycle. Reps will be a very minority party of no consequence, a bug to be flicked off the dinner table.
Copy, paste this, print it and store it in an old mayo jar in your garage, open it 11/8 and say this guy is a prophet.
Green’s district is normally classified as “solid Republican” but it is nowhere near as solid as it was a few years ago.
Two reasons:
1. The TN Republicans did a good job in the 2022 redistricting and obliterated the old Nashville (Democrat) district which Jim Cooper held for many years. As a result, the sewer known as Davidson County — which is Nashville — had to be split into several pieces, of which the smallest piece is in Green’s district. That is also the WORST piece, however.
2. TN-7 contains the deteriorating suburban areas in Williamson County and Montgomery County. Those areas are still generally OK, but (especially Williamson) are not close to being as good as they were just a few years ago when the sewage began heavily flowing out of Nashville in most directions.
Put it together, and no longer will House Republicans get 65-70% like Green used to. Chances are very good that whoever runs for the GOP in November fails to reach 60% and may well fail to get 55% what with not having the advantage of incumbency.
That person should still win by 10 points if not a little more. barring a major catastrophe.
“I don’t know enuff about their seats to know if they are safe or not.”
Chances are good that EVERY SINGLE ONE of the seats listed above will remain in Republican hands. There is a 100% chance that, at the very least, NEARLY all of them with stay R.
The most marginal seat on that last is CO-5 (Lamborn) and it’s still a solidly GOP district for now.
....sadly, I agree....I fear for the future of this once-great country.
I am sure the Democrats will keep the Senate and with the House going to the Dems, even if Trump is elected President,
I don’t see how he will get much of anything done...
as that old expression goes, “Hope for the best, but
prepare for the worst” .......
Yep. And voting isn't going to do a damned thing.
I think the Reps ineptitude is to make sure the republican party is a minority party so if Trump does get into the WH, they won’t have to do anything for him except make noise like they support him.
“There will be a blue wave in the 24 election cycle.”
You *may* be right.
Here’s something that definitely IS right: if Republicans lose the House, these retirements will NOT be the reason why it happens.
The reason it happens will be Republicans who ARE running for re-election, losing in numerous marginal districts. For example, like the one they just lost this week in New York. That wasn’t an incumbent losing, but there are at least 4 others in New York alone who are in serious jeopardy in November.
If “only” 2 of those 4 lose, it’s a wonderful upset.
thank you for that...
I expect Reps to get pretty much swept in any blue state. Be it through voter fraud or just the fact the Republicans have done nothing to get re-eleclted.
...evil is not getting tired of winning.
Roman Empire Part Deux
Jim Banks of IN is running for the Senate instead of the House this time, so he is still involved.
Green is going back home to organize a militia....cool!
“... broken beyond most means of repair”
Oh how I wish he’d given some detail. Are too many of his fellow politicians crooks, or victims of blackmail, or under some other kind of threat from the congressional leadership or his peers?
Perhaps the specifics are things he can’t talk about publicly.
