You’re still not getting it. The Biden Administration has an open border policy that prevents our border agencies from enforcing the law and apprehending and deporting illegals. It has messaged citizens of other countries that the border is open and they should come and not be prosecuted. The money being spend on the border is being used to process, not prosecute these migrants. Therefore, at present, any money sent to the border will only help Biden process migrants more quickly and bring more illegals into the country. That’s what the Dems put into the border bill and Joe even said “Give me the money”. So until that policy changes, I’m content to send money to Ukraine to kill invading orcs.

You should read more about those “ relatively small cities”, how long it took Ukraine to turn them into some of the most heavily hardened and prepared fortress bases in the world, and how….. and why….and how their fall now affects the entire strategic defense of central Ukraine from further Russian advances.

It may help you understand why the Ukrainians dug in and kept sending waves of humans to be slaughtered and to hold, at Zelensky’s command,

I do not see the point.

If our border is not safe there is no point in worrying about the rest of the world.

You cannot have a foreign policy if you are not a secure nation to begin with...

We are just flushing money down the toilet while making new enemies around the world.

Oh yeah—and those enemies can flood our country with sleeper agents because—remember—we are not guarding the border.

I do not see the point.

I’m sorry, but although I can (and did) explain it to you, I cannot understand it for you. Seems you just want to stick to bumper sticker slogans about our border and Ukraine’s. Enjoy your Sunday.

The only way folks like you would get interested in defending our border is if the Russians invaded it!

Remember who were the frontline Russians that took Bakhmut….Wagner, a PMC. Vastly outnumbered.

Avdeevka was taken by the Russian military and their weapons and tactics since Bakhmut showed considerable improvements, continuing technological innovation and adaptation. Heavy use of the air force with stand-off glide bombing, not seen in Bskhmut. No sign whatsoever of ammo shortage unlike Bakhmut where Prigo was begging for shells. New drones with bigger payloads and extended range and loiter time. At least 3 times the rate of artillery fire, over the Ukes.

As of today after Avdeevka was occupied, there has been no operational pause in Donetsk as the battle moves west, battering the still-retreating Ukrainians, hindering Syrsky’s options for trying to build a defense west of Avdeevka and limiting his options to reconstitute units, restore command and control, and redeploy forces to other areas, such as Zaporozhye, where 4 Russian armies have been held in reserve for a new offensive.

War College someday is going to study these battles. Prob already are.

That is western bullshit propaganda. The Ukrainians were left to hold a position they knew was lost because the little leader was in Germany working his grift. How many thousands of Ukrainian soldiers paid for that decision? The loss of Avdika is a serious blow to Ukraine. This was built up and fortified over 10 years. It wasn't irrelevant. Ukraine was so confident they would hold it that they didn't build other lines of defense behind it.

Guessing this is more like WW1 where thousands died on the battlefront without ever even seeing the enemy.

Let NATO — minus the USA — defend itself.

I wasn’t referring to Ukrainians. I was referring to Washington neocons who seemingly get into wars that just so happen to make them or their friends money.

Never said it wasn’t significant, but if you are the ”2nd greatest military” taking two cities in 2 years, well bravo

“The only time that they dominated was during WWII, even then, it took them a while to get their act together.”

If my history serves me right, it took them pretty much TWO YEARS to get their act together, after Germany attacked them.

“ interest “ in southern border and Ukraine are not mutually exclusive
I care about both,
Political will drives both, no amount of funds is going to secure the southern border, the laws exist to do that already
The latest “comprehensive immigration reform “ simply would legalize what is going on and nothing would change for the better

The border problem existed before Russia invaded the two are not related except Ukraine assistance is being used as a chip to get funding for Ukraine
