Don’t you find that just walking takes all your concentration and energy. I constantly have to concentrate on each footstep. Can’t walk in a straight line either. My grandson will walk with me and put his arm across my shoulders to keep me from veering off of the sidewalk.
My neuropathy was a result of the strong chemotherapy I was given for 8 months in 1994. Yes, it was worth it.

I can do it without concentration but still pay close attention to each step to avoid a fall.
My neuropathy is in part the result of 6 plus hours of vascular surgery on my right leg, got the neuropathy but still have the foot and leg. Leg has about half the function it used to have so that contributes to walking balance problems.

In black population this is well known and in other population subsets... like Irish, and Middle Eastern people.

All males on both sides (paternal & maternal) in my family all died before age 72. I am still going strong in mid-80’s. Only difference is I exercise every other day. 30 years back I had chest pains after eating meat, high blood pressure, high A1C, panick attacks in closed public places, hip & knee joint pains, and low energy. I figured I would die before reaching Medicare. So resigned from my great job and began walking many miles every day. Within 2 years all my health issues disappeared.
