We are to live in 15 minute cities and not "hoard" any food longer than 24 hours (little tiny refrigerators to reduce energy use and need for refrigerant). That way, when the decision is made to pull the plug for depopulation, everyone will be out of electrical power and food and water more or less instantly. Ring the powerless cities with killer robots so no one can flee, and let nature select out the most vicious cannibals.
