Thanks, but what is the reason for a one sentence post?

Not to split hairs, but if they possibly caused $1B in damage, not sure how that makes them dumb. Idiots, yes. Dumb, not necessarily.

The reasoning is that, while these radical terrorists are ostensibly for saving the environment, they are attacking electric vehicle production:

" His factory, the company’s first in Europe, manufactures the Model Y crossover for most European left-hand drive markets including Germany.

However, what these leftist - likely mostly spoiled children of one or two (at most) homes - seek is that of power. They claim to be against fascism, yet as manifest in Portland's antifa's autonomous zones, such lust for centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition - aspects of fascism.

Thus as said in the article which the OP did not bother to provide:

"The complete destruction of the Gigafactory and the lopping off of technofascists like 'Elend' Musk are a step on the path towards liberation from the patriarchy," the group said in a statement sent to media,

Loss of production.

Those Model Y’s start at $44,000. I’m not sure what all goes into the street price, but for convenience I’ll round to $50k, and 10 days to resume production. Production, says the article, is ~1000 Model S’s per day. There are a lot of other factors, I’ll be generous and call them a wash.

So... $50k x 1k x 10 days = half a billion dollars right there, just for the loss of production.

Yes, not figured into the math in my last post is the effect of the supply disruptions.

Regardless of what you think of electric cars or Musk, these eco-terrorists need a natural punishment.

Lessee, honey, ants, wood stakes and hemp (rope)?

I wasn’t sure what the limits of free use of copyrighted material is now on FR. I’ve been away for awhile. I recall readers would follow the link to the source.

Tie them spread-eagle to the front of a solar panel in a desert solar farm and leave them there. That or drop them in the ‘death hole’ of a hydroelectric dam.

Think about the giga-casting of the frames for the Model Y. Hot liquid aluminum alloy forced into a mold within a couple seconds. Any stoppage of electricity won’t allow the equipment to release the casting from the mold, and a 100 million dollar machine is ruined (I don’t know the cost but it’s high). Electricity also is used to keep the aluminum alloy liquid. Computers control the motions of robotics and hydraulics. Lots of equipment can be ruined without the controlling computer timing. Then there is the paint shop, all done by robots. Also robotic wiring machines controlling the windings of motors. Lots of robots stopped, etc.

I’ve been hanging around here a long time and the fact is that 99% of freepers are smarter than anyone in any of the articles/stories or whatever that are posted here.

Why? Cuz we can read an assimilate information at a pace that most humans cannot.

They aren’t eco terrorists. They are anti-capitalism terrorists, i.e. communists. Communists hate successful capitalism.

I thought they wanted EVs to save the environment. Why not trash an ICE car manufacturer? I’m confused.

I had been inside a National Semi Conductor plant in Texas in the 90’s, delivering barrels of hydrochloric acid. I got to see their vacuum pumps and they were roots blowers powered by electric motors. Impressive.

Sounds like an investment in minimal UPS power for emergency safe equipment shutdown, along with shutdown software & procedure, would have been wise.

I can’t imagine the technology required for safe equipment shutdown! The gigafactory isn’t fully up and running yet, with ramping up still in progress and some expansion yet to be built. What I’ve heard is that Musk intends the factory to be fully self-powered at some point of time. He has done that at other factories under his control.

Musk needs to let the German fed gubmint slobs know that, unless all the perps are given life in prison, and Germany finally pulls its head out of its ass and gets behind the plant, he'll relocate to a different location in the EU.

I wasn’t sure what the limits of free use of copyrighted material is now on FR. I’ve been away for awhile. I recall readers would follow the link to the source.

I appreciate the post, but it is daily evident that very few respondents follow links, and instead comment on the lead, for which 100 words are allowed for most sources by FR, and 300 words all told, but which should refer to substantial works.

Often, as a guide, about 10% of copyrighted material is stated as what can provided (https://midway.libguides.com/copyright) but copyright law does not use that measure, as instead the nature, purpose, amount and commercial detriment to the author are factors which are used to determine how much can be copied.

Under the fair use doctrine of the U.S. copyright statute, it is permissible to use limited portions of a work including quotes, for purposes such as commentary, criticism, news reporting, and scholarly reports.... There are no legal rules permitting the use of a specific number of words, a certain number of musical notes, or percentage of a work. Whether a particular use qualifies as fair use depends on all the circumstances. See, Fair Use Index, and Circular 21, - https://www.copyright.gov/help/faq/faq-fairuse.html

Some people make their living hammering nails, and others on a keyboard, but the latter can be very easily reproduced and shared at virtually no or minute cost.

Seeing as FR is non-profit, despite volitional fund raising, and postings are for commentary, criticism, news reporting, and scholarly reports, then it qualifies as a medium more favorable for Fair Use, but reviewing some of the above issue now, I would revise a previous exhortation to those who post thread (normally post as much of the meat of the article as allowed, describe videos, etc.) in which I exhorted normally using 100 word leads and 300 word total of excerpts of an excerpt of an article to provide the meat of the article, since 300 words may be too much for short articles and provide too much meat.

Yet lazily just copying and pasting the first few sentences, often with ads and or "follow us" type superfluity, is inconsiderate of others who look thru the up to 250 excerpts on the articles page for news and content worth reading.

However, no Christian source should prohibit (thus criminalizing it) freely, with no "strings," sharing their compositions, unchanged (comments in brackets), with accreditation (if found), but those who charge for such without permission and accreditation (and esp. if presenting it as their own) are criminals. aside from passing on learning from them.

In the article at issue, with 675 words (which the Word Count Extension for 🦊 Firefox or the Word Counter Plus extension for Chrome can show), then if the 10% guide is followed (67.5 words), then together with the headline, (which FR allows some expansion of)

"Elon Musk’s German Tesla plant suffers close to $1 billion in damages after attack by the ‘dumbest eco-terrorists on Earth" [.Arsonists calling themselves the Volcano Group] His factory manufactures the Model Y crossover.."The complete destruction of the Gigafactory and the lopping off of technofascists like 'Elend' Musk are a step on the path towards liberation from the patriarchy," the group said

then that would be 61 words, and which should eliminate ignorant comments while still inviting more investigation (to the very commericialized Yahoo). I myself often include the link to the source in my first comment though.

Of course the terrorists are idiots.

Deep States nowhere on the planet hire the front office appearance types for brains.

And this was a Deep State job, wasn’t it...
