Neither Cornyn or him deserve the leadership. Someone else should run. Urgently.
We can, and should, retreat when we are in the wrong fight against a nation that we have needlessly made into our enemy — and are befriending nations that are our actual enemies.

Thune needs to spend more time back in South Dakota. I am certain if he had coffee with the folks in his hometown, Murdo, they would not be in favor of pouring more taxpayer money into the black hole that is Ukraine.
What you do not grasp is that either Cornyn or Thune are perfect representatives of the Republican Party? No one else is running because anyone else who favors what we do has zero chance of winning.
