It may even eliminate the Barbarian invasion of our Southern boder. I’ll drink to that.

Ah, a man who understands how the game is played. Interesting take.

You are probably right on. It goes with my belief that Biden will not leave the White House.

“Perhaps she is relocating her family to her Arizona mountain top WWIII refuge”

She still had her #3 position there, which was enough to get this war started...so nothing to do with the Vacancies Act. Also, people who are so driven to evil rarely care about their own survival, much less their family’s survival.

“Let it fight Russia if it thinks it’s all that important.”

Why is Europe such in a tizzy about Russia? Over three break-away provinces in a border region with Ukraine?

Could someone please give a logical explanation about the rush to conflict?

All the sound and fury coming from NATO about sending NATO troops into the Ukraine is a tacit admission that the Ukraine is losing, BADLY. If the Ukraine was winning you would not hear one word about NATO troops being sent to fight and die.

Resources. The EU and Russia both want control over the Ukraine’s farmland, mineral wealth, educated workforce, and and existing industrial base.

Russia is after three provinces. There’s plenty of farmland and educated people in the rest of Europe and Ukraine.

It doesn’t explain the rush to a disastrous war, that is unless the people in charge think someone else will have to fight said war.

********************

Logic has no place with our current foreign policy.

The decision to make Ukraine an ally of the United States was idiotic and “bound to fail.”

Great nations always grasp for the brass ring. Russian doesn’t just want “three provinces” any more than the EU wants just want what’s west of the Dnieper. Euro wars are always for the whole enchilada.

Years ago there was some plan to expand the EU to include all of the Middle East and North Africa.

It’s as if people just don’t understand their limits.

Poland fears a repeat of the tumultuous post-WW II era in which the western region of Ukraine hosted partisan units that fled Russian forces and invaded Poland after the formal end of the war. A collapse of the Ukrainian government could create a similar problem and also trigger a massive refugee flow into Poland. Indeed, if Russia defeats Ukraine, Russian ambitions to intimidate and subjugate Poland would soon become active.

If they want to enter they can. I do not agree that their “fears” are a reason for NATO involvement.

Their “fears” may get them exactly what they do not want.

We all have “fears”. We don’t need a war because we have “fears”.

That is exactly what sounds like neocon excuses for war.

Poland has a national ideology of freedom and a well-founded fear of Russian aggression that is rooted in history and in the claims and conduct of Putin and his government. The era of the Warsaw Pact and Soviet communist brutality are within the living memory of most Poles.

Thus Poland is spending heavily and is likely to soon have the largest and best equipped military of all NATO members on the continent. From the Polish perspective, they have little patience with naysayers and peaceniks who live in safety thousands of miles away and shiver at the prospect of having to fight to defend their country's interests.
