Brooks appeared in a few episodes of “Adam-12,” as an impaired driver, once starting to smoke from his jacket pocket where he’d stashed a lit joint when he got pulled over. I think it was in the last appearance that he hit and killed a kid. Seems like the Jack Webb influence, portraying the dark side of the humorous drunkenness he so often glamorized.
