What ever happened to the idea that the sheriff was going to kick out the feds? I thought the farmers had a legal contract showing ownership of the waterways and the sheriff was going to remove the feds? Did he ever try it?

So where is our hero GW on this? I really dislike his unwillingness to take a stand. Were it not for 9/11 he would be holed up in the white House.

... the endangered suckerfish for which the water was diverted last year doesn't need as much water as previously thought. ..mmm..fuzzy science I guess.
Common sense wins out now and then.

Enviros get what they want because they send money to the whores in govt. Conservatives content themselves with bitching on forums like this and fooling themselves that anyone who matters is paying attention. You have to buy the kings favor. Also many leftists go into govt.,education and the media.

As an Oregonian, I know Rep. Waldon and Sen. Smith played a big role in this happening. California`s farmers should sue their two idiot senators who both against helping the farmers stay on the land. It never would have happened if Al had won. No difference between the two parties? Want to bet!

Greg Walden has been outstanding in trying to get some common sense going in regard to legislation. Smith could be more agressive but that he is at least on the right side and willing is a start.

Hey Willy,
I signed up two more people today for the Klamath Bucket Brigade and am doing a seminar at a high school tomorrow. Real conservatives make things happen.

Happy BUMP. You've done a terrific job on this. Your dedication to this issue has been a tremendous help to the Klamath farmers.

This is great news. Thank you for all you've done, working on the protests and reports, driving probably thousands of miles during this crisis, for the Klamath farmers.
Along with the many helpers and protests, it took a few very couragous people over there willing to risk everything to net this.
God Bless them all. And you, too!

I am not celebrating yet. An undercurrent of all this is to "solve" the BoR Klamath Project operation's environmental difficulties by dragging the mid-Klamath into the equation and taking its water for coho. We see the signs in the Wyden Amendment and the Reid Amendment to the Farm Bill - buy water rights or farms to acquire water rights.
Why is the mid Klamath in the Klamath Project Biological Assessment? It is no where near the Klamath Project. Why is the National Academy of Sciences taking a field trip to the mid-Klamath when it's charge was to review the science behind the BoR's decisions? Why is Wyden setting up a multiple federal agency task force on water allocations in our area? We have private water use rights. There is no federal project here.
We are not under federal jurisdiction. All these @#$ are doing is spreading the poison. They will just get their pound of flesh from us, until ag in the entire system is dead.
Did you see that the California Wild Heritage campaign now wants the Klamath Basin named as new Wilderness. Look for it in Boxer's Wilderness bill - anticipated soon.
