"There was nothing to show that he would have a fit of madness like that," Jean-Pierre Raynaud, Secretary General of the National Police Officers Union, told reporters. Nah, no indications he'd go berserkers. I mean, he'd just killed eight people yesterday, but that was then.

This is a riot! There's like, 15 holes in this story.
It's unbelievable. They killed him.
Heheh. OMG.

"There was nothing to show that he would have a fit of madness like that," Umm, what do you call mass murder?

"Police said Richard Durn"Recall how many were saying this was an Arab Muslim on the other threads? So far you are batting 1.000
Names prove little. The extremist Muslim shoe bomber was named Richard Reid.

Inspector Clouseau will be 'taking les noms' and 'kicking les derrieres'.
This story wouldn't be funny at all if the characters weren't French!
Who says the French haven't made a major contribution to civilization? They make us laugh, even in parlous times!

That's what we need in this country..prisons with windows.... Make that HIGH RISE prisons with all "dangerous" criminals housed on the top floor.

Your # 20 and the previous posts are one of the things I really like about the Freep. Another great example was the "Wotta man!" comment about someone who had allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself 5-6 times with a high-powered rifle.

"...despite his interrogators' efforts to hold him back by the legs,..."Hmmm, then why are there so many bootheel marks on his fingers...?
Whacko conspiracy theory: He was put up to this mass murder to justify even tighter restrictions on firearms ownership in France!

"The two interrogators tried to hold him back by the legs, but the determination of this fanatic, whose body was already mostly outside, meant all this effort was in vain." Pour encourager les autres?

"There are too many arms in circulation in France," conceded Interior Minister Daniel Vaillant. And we all KNOW here in the U.S. how often those guns just *jump* out of their storage place and create "gun crime" all by themselves. This at a time when guns are readily flowing to France's criminal element from peaceful, friendly, Islamic North Africa.

You see the latest on this one?

Sounds to me like the French Police just voted for the Death Penalty.

A loner arrested for killing eight politicians leapt to his death from the window of a Paris police station France was quick with it's criticism of our handling of the Afghan prisoners, but to date, none of America's Afghans prisoners have ended up dead.
