several different versions of Shermans

I have heard that the Russians had some Shermans, and that they preferred the ones with gasoline engines, and some preferred rubber tires rather than tracks. Also that in certain environments, such as forest, the Sherman is still hard to beat. Did I mention that there is an open area in my front yard just the right size to store one of these? Right bewteen the doghouse and the SUV.

This is, unfortunately, a rather frequent occurance. Apparantly Mexican Army training does not include cartography. Usually they think they're still in Mexico. I heard about one in Texas where they actually chased our guys to a Border Patrol station (which are actually a fair bit AWAY from the border) and were claiming it was Mexico, the BP CO talked one of them into touring the building, they got in a saw the great seal and figured out that they were hosed. This one is rare because higher ups got involved, usually everybody keeps it pretty quiet. I don't think it's anything more than poorly educated people joing a poorly trained military force. It's important to remember that it's a very long border, with a whole lot of NOTHING along most of it (we actually put a few dozen miles between cities out here), pretty easy to get lost.

They didn't notice the river they had to cross?

I do know of one for sale. If you watch the *Blues Brothers Movie* [the original, not the *Blues Brothers 2000* piece of crap] you'll notice that in the last 10 minutes of the film, as the *Illinois National Guard* [actually, the Windy City Military Vehicle Collectors Club and a BUNCH of extras] assaults the Daily Building, the muxxle of the cannon on one tank moves in a jerky fashion. There's one counterweight missing on the main gun mount. It's also a hot rod of a sort, having had the original radial aircraft engine pulled and the 500HP Ford GAF engine from an M26 Pershin dropped into place. I'll check for you and see if it's still available....

The INS has lost about 110 officers since 1926-more than twice as many as any other Federal agency during the same period. It is the gutless paper-pushing management that enforces this policy.Every day I am more glad I retired when I did.

You jump out of perfectly good airplanes! You must be crazy. I used to think that as well, until I saw how the USAF maintailned many of their M1 and M2 carbines. Then, after my army days, I became an aircraft mechanic. There are no perfectly good aircraft.

388 junps.
