Maybe we're not doing enough to make the government fear us.

Oh, there's no "maybe" to it IMHO. We simply don't seem to have enough folks with any backbone to do anything about, however. It's the old adage about "I didn't do anything when they came for the Jews because I wasn't a Jew, etc., etc.) although there is another old adage by, I believe, Margaret Mead that goes something to the tune of, "Never doubt that a determined and committed minority can bring about drastic change. In fact, it's the only thing that ever has."

Don't be too hard on Kevin, LL. He shows up whenever the War on Drugs is mentioned, and his line is always the same: if you oppose the Drug War, then you must want people to use and abuse drugs. I think a marijuana plant bit him when he was small, or something like that.

If you are sufficiently fanatical about wiping out some vice, you'll sacrifice every other value and every other virtue to do it. That's sort of by definition. Today we see this happen routinely in the campaigns against drug vice. If armed agents of the State are legally empowered to crash into your home without a warrant because you're suspected of using some illegal drug, and take your life on the spot if you protest in a fashion they disapprove, there's nothing left that's beyond the pale. They who remain committed to the Drug War have yet to come to terms with this, morally... except for those to whom either 1) it's an acceptable price, or 2) this is the result they were hoping and steering for.

To some people, freedom really is a dirty word. Unfortunately, some of those insist on calling themselves conservatives.

You can always get a new husband. Toes are another matter altogether.

True, but she didn't lose her toes, she lost the use of her toes. Which of course begs the question, just what the heck is this woman up to with her toes that's worth $700,000?

What statements in the article are untrue? What in the article is "pro-dope"?

I find that ignoring trolls denies them the attention that they are seeking and they go away. Debating them on the other hand, just invites more trolling.

Pro-Dope?

There was no warrant. In a recent case locally, unmarked SWAT members broke into a home without a knock. The elderly woman in the living room screamed that it was a home invasion. Her husband came from the back of the house with a shotgun to protect her. When he came into the room, he was killed by automatic weapons fire. The elderly woman was placed face-down on the floor next to her dead husband while the house was searched.

There were no drugs. They had the wrong house.

Is it too much to ask that an end be put to no-knock entries? Or at least have POLICE on the front of these black uniforms? Or at least follow or Constitutionally guaranteed rights of no searches without a warrant?

And as this thread proves, it never fails to draw the same swarm of adoring pro-dope flies.

Flashing that shiney Professional Dope badge around again, eh?

I like that quote, 'When the government fears the people there is freedom and when the people fear the government there is tyranny'.

As close observers can see, there is a strange acquiesence to the tyranny by our dominant news media. All is not well. The fix is in, the face of evil is at our doorstep.

"The officer who killed me would be promoted for bravery under fire."

I have more faith in you than that. I'm thinking that he'd receive a posthumous commendation.

the sooner we stop the war on drugs the better
it criminalizes our fellow citizens, and it turns our government into jack booted thugs
our fed gov is starting to sink from the corruption of drug money
I'm starting to realize looking at effect of war on drugs on drugusers is red herring
cause it is corrupting our government

"...as the bank robbery in la a few years ago, when these guys run up against similarly armed true criminals, they hide under cars and get post traumatic stress disorder."

If we take what we've been told about the Columbine massacre at face value, those LEOs acted no differently under the prospect of facing three teenagers with pop guns.

Because an innocent Citizen killed a jackbooted treasonous thug, better know as an LEO (oximoron) he's automatically guilty. When LEo's refused to fight the law that makes their death more serious than other Citizens, they became the criminals and they deserve every round Citizens throw their way.

To deprive a soul of the life God gave him is the ultimate failure
Let's end these thugs' careers before we talk about ending their lives. Most government workers live in mortal dread of losing career prospects, and LEOs have a particular fear of this. That closet full of blue windbreakers and black BDUs don't go with too many private sector jobs.

Stop cheering me up!! Please??

Sadly, this will continue to get worse as we all sit back and do nothing until it becomes so commonplace that we all live in constant fear of our lives. We should have gotten the clue when the Waco fiasco happened or when Ruby Ridge happened, but we didn't. The fact that the majority of the American public weren't jumping up and down and demanding REAL justice over the incidents makes us all complacent in what happens next. Just MHO.

There is nothing 'pro-dope' in the article. The article is a display of how ridiculous the War on Drugs is and to what lengths our friendly police will go to exert some psychotic need for control over their subjects.

These types of raids are being carried out by PIGS, not police officers. Police officers protect the rights of citizens. PIGS are in it to feel macho. It helps them get over their bad feelings about being testicularly impaired.

The letters on the front of their ninja suits need to be PIG.
