I hadn't noticed until I considered buying wood for a bookcase last year and couldn't afford anything sturdy, like real wood. Gave up. Might be cheaper to use glass shelving.

BUMP!!!!!! I don't have time to read it all right now, but this is looking better! I hope my neighbors in Grant County can get those forests near their homes cleaned up before the fire season hits them.

"A "Wise Forestry Policy" would be to get the government out of the forestry business."

Agreed, and while we're at it, every other business too.

I drove through the fire damaged area two days ago. It struck me that I saw 20-30 home-made signs that said 'Thank-you firefighters'. I couldn't help noting the irony of it in that the fire was started by a fire fighter. Even after the fire is over, there's still lots of work for firefighters as a result of the fire. They cut down all the burned trees so that the land is completely bare and then they plant saplings. It is a LOT of work.

We now have I think at least 4 times as many acres burn per year as we had 40 years ago. It does generate a lot of jobs. and everybody from the fire area seems to understand that the magnitude of the fires are made much worse by the environmentalists.

if they would just give control of all that federal land to the various states, then I guarantee the entire situation would be much improved. When the state of arizona has bad policies the people can do something about it, but when washington has bad policies nobody can do anything about it.

Montana is next to see thousands of acres go up in smoke. The bark beetle has killed thousands of acres around Missoula and northwards. They are dry and ready for a lightning strike or a Forest Service idiot or whaco arsonist to set them off. Then it's goodbye trees, both dead and living.

We could throw out Congress too. The principle holds. You only believe that because Arizona is conservative. What if it was Oregon or California?

you're right, I only believe that because I'm from Arizona. I read your post saying about extremes in Calif where you live. It's scary to think about rich liberals moving to rural ariz. I think maybe we should organize vigilante committee.

Hang Em High!!!

Thanks for the sad update.

You have wonder how many of these trees that have been infested by the bark beetle were in a weakened situation due to all of the crummy brush that has grown up around the trees in the last 8 years?

When those trees burn, they are like super tinder. They are dead and without any water in the tree trunks due to the bark beetles effect.

We are starting to get some of these tree hugging anti human enviral nazis to get a little nervous.

This entire summer we need to target them like a battleship with its really big guns. Every fire and every stupid move must become a terrible reality for these Green POS's.

I want them to be in fear of their personal fortunes being lost in civil lawsuits do their actions. I want the board members of these Watermelons to say, "It's time for me to retire and spend more time with my Tree Seedlings!"

2002 need to be the beginning of the end of their evil control over Americans!
