If DAW were guilty, I would want him to pay with his life. But IMHO, based on all the evidence presented, I believe he is NOT GUILTY. In my opinion, he is merely a convenient patsy for the real killer.

Frankly, I am surprised at all of the support that Westerfield is receiving on this forum. The evidence and his actions seem to point to his guilt. Many here even question the parents based simply on their lifestyle. Most knew OJ was guilty on even less direct evidence.

I think the thing that stands out most in my mind is the fact that he has been 100% truthful from the git-go. The 'similarity' of the fibers mean nothing in ths day and age of superstores, where it is not only possible, but likely that people in a given geographic location will have the same type of textiles in their homes. The only thing that I have seen that made me say hmmmmmmmmm, was the very small amount of blood on DW's jacket. After the defense questioning, I'd give equal creedence to either Danielle being in the motorhome without DW's knowledge, or the evidence being planted. The prosecution has presented no coherent theory of the crime, provided nothing but marginally circumstantial evidence while the defense has proven every statement made to police by DW was truthful. He cooperated fully with the investigation, and answered all police questions truthfully. I really don't see how the jury could convict him. Dusek has failed miserably at every point he said he would prove in his opening statement.

She is retired SDPD and a very good "friend" of the van Dams that was surgically attached at the hip from the moment the child went missing.
